“What do you mean the building is not open?” Adam frowned while he listened to Kyle on the other side of the line. He was beyond annoyed by the way events were turning. He heard the roaring of a car and turned around to see a burgundy Mini Cooper driving into the closest parking spot. He sighed, said goodbye to Kyle and hang up his phone.

She was getting out of her car. Her brown hair softly moved in the wind and he could immediately see she was dressed to kill. She was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, an oversized sweater that hang from her left shoulder, and those weird Nike shoes with a hidden heel. The only reason he knew about the heel was because Anne, one of his exes used to have a pair just like the ones Ly was wearing. Although her outfit was very casual, she looked amazing. Everything suited her well, and Adam only noticed he was staring at her once she started walking up to him.

“You didn’t have to wait outside.” she laughed at him. She was clearly in a great mood, even after his not very polite phone call. He was glad she didn’t seem to think he didn’t think she could sing. Truth be told: it did come out that way.

He laughed back at her. “I meant to wait inside, but the doors were closed. I just got off the phone with Kyle and apparently they won’t let us use the building because there are some security checks that have to be done.” He wasn’t able to disguise his annoyance completely.

Ly looked puzzled at him. “So… what are we going to do then?” she asked, clearly not sure what to expect.

He didn’t know either. He didn’t see this coming at all. The only other room he could think of that was available and also possessed the utilities they would need was –sadly- located in his house.

After a moment of contemplating he realized he had no other option. He couldn’t just send her home after his almost rude phone call. He really had to learn how to make up excuses without sounding like a complete asshole.

“I have a studio at my house.” he said, not sure which way to carry himself. He didn’t want to act as if this was a booty call, because it wasn’t. But he also didn’t want to act like the prick who acted like nothing ever happened. He sure had gotten himself into a complicated situation. He almost let out a sigh of relieve when Ly answered as casually as she was dressed: “All right, do you want to drive together or separately?”

“We can drive together.” He was already making his way to his car. He knew she didn’t have a job at the moment, and he didn’t want to let her waist her gasoline on driving to his enormous house. If there was a dick move, that would be it.

She had followed him into his car and took place on the passenger seat. She buckled her seatbelt and put her big handbag on her lap. The bag was pretty big. One size smaller than the bags he would see girls going to the beach with. Adam never really got the bag thing. The love that girls had for their bags, he just couldn’t comprehend it. For example: Ly. The bag was huge, black and completely see through. There were smaller bags in the big bag, that probably contained her wallet, phone, make up and tampons. That’s what he thought, he didn’t know either what the hell girls are carrying around in their bags, let alone why they had to have the size of fridges.

“That bag is basically asking for it to get stolen.” he stated while putting the car in reverse and driving out of the parking spot. He swiftly moved the car away from the The Voice building and in no time they found themselves on the road. “Why’s that?” Ly asked, seemingly looking amused at him from the corners of her eyes.

“People can just see what’s inside.” He answered, not able to hide a smile. He hated the effect she had on him. Well, first of all he loved it, then, after good consideration, he hated it.
