Chapter 22

James and Rose stood in the smelly pub, their jaws wide open.

"Where did they go!?" Rose exclaimed, tears forming in her eyes.

"Its okay," James said, trying to be strong to his young cousin. "Maybe the boot is broken again."

"So what do we do?" Rose said in panic.

"Well, my dad's always told me to wait until they come back."

"What if they don't!?" Rose said. She sat down on the dirty floor, face buried in her arms, and started to cry.

"Okay, let's go look for them then," James replied, helping her up. They walked out the pub, with many stares from drunken adults.

Walking out into the crowded streets of Hogsmeade, the two looked around, but not for long, after James spotted Honeydukes. He tapped Rose on the shoulder, and pointed to it, and they practically ran.

The smell of sweet treats filled their nostrils, and they walked up to the counter.

"Excuse me, ma'am, where are we?" Rose asked, standing on her tiptoes to see the woman behind the counter.

"This is Honeydukes," the woman replied with a voice like silk. James tugged Rose's shirt, and she walked off to the side.

"What are you doing?" James asked. "Hasn't your mum ever told you that you shouldn't talk to strangers?"

"Oh," Rose replied, bowing her head a bit. "Lets just go somewhere else, then."

As the rest of the family hurried around, Harry and Ginny stood and argued.

"What just happened?!" Ginny said, her hands in the air.

"Don't worry, love, we'll find them," Harry said, trying to comfort her.

"Don't worry?! James and Rose are.. God knows where, doing God knows what! And you expect me to not worry? Unbelievable."

"Then let's go find them," Harry said, guiding Ginny with his hand on her back.

"JAAAMESS!" Harry bellowed, his hands cupped around his mouth. "ROOSSEE!"

"ROSE, HONEY!" Ron yelled, frantically running around. "COME TO DADDY, ROSE!"

As the chase continued, Rose and James stood in the candy store, sampling every candy in sight. Hermione, Ron, Harry, Ginny, and Albus ran through the streets. Fortunately, the Portkey was set to go to Hogsmeade, so they were near.

"MUUUMM! DAAAAD!"

"JAMES? WHERE ARE YOU?!!"

As the family ran down the streets of Hogsmeade, Rose and James hurried towards their parents. The crowded streets practically swallowed up the small kids. After a moment, the frantic pitter-patter of steps got closer and closer.

"Rose! James!"

"Mummy! Daddy!" The two said in unison and shared long hugs with their parents.

"I thought I'd lost you!" Harry said as he hugged James.

Later, the family all sat in the Three Broomsticks for lunch.

"You know, kids, we haven't even gotten to our special holiday yet! Are you excited?" Hermione asked the kids.

"YES!" The kids all said. The next day, their special family holiday would take the kids by surprise.
