Chapter 25

Recap: I step back and give them one last smile before my body fades away completely.

---------------------

Everything goes black. I wake up to the sound of Jo's light breathing. My bed is so nice and warm. I don't want to get up but I know I have to. I groan quietly before pulling the covers off and getting up. I grab a clean pair of black leggings and a royal blue tunic out of my bag. I pull my clothes on and sit down on the bed to lace up my boots. I stand up to look around for a hair brush and spot one on the nightstand. I unbraid my hair and brush it out. I takes a few minutes to untangle the mess that I call hair. I hear a groan. I look over to the other bed at Jo who is just getting up now.

"I don't wanna to get up" Jo moans. She pulls the covers over her head and groans into the pillow again.

"Well, then you shouldn't have waited up for me" I retort, smiling a bit. I lightly throw the hair brush at Jo. "Get up, I'm getting food, you coming?"

"Yeah, give me five minutes to change and do our hair" Jo replies. She gets up and pulls on a clean red tunic and another pair of brown leggings. Jo grabs her hairbrush and quickly brushes out all the knots. She sets the brush down and I sit down on the bed in front of her. Jo pulls my hair into a Katniss Everdeen style braid. When Jo's done I get up and grab Thranduil's necklace off the nightstand which is still wrapped up in a silk cloth. I stuff it into my pocket and stand next to the door while Jo pulls her own hair into a Dutch braid.

I remember last night. The dream or vision, whatever you want to call it. "Hey, Jo?" I say absently.

"Yeah?" Jo replies, still braiding her hair.

"What's the date? I kind of lost track of the days we've been here." I ask absently.

Jo stays silent for a few minutes before replying "It's March fourth."

I freeze. This was the date. The date where I usually get completely drunk to forget the cold-blooded murders of my family. I decide to change the topic. "Did you have any weird dreams last night?" I ask.

Jo frowns. "Actually, yeah I did" she replies, a bit surprised.

"What was yours about?" I ask, interestedly.

"Um...I talked to my brother, Patrick. I told him everything that happened to us so far. He's said that in our world, we're not dead just missing. He's sad that we're gone but he accepts it if we're happy here." Jo explains awkwardly. "What about you?"

I sigh quietly. "Yeah I know. Thomas and Logan said the same thing. They just got back from Japan. They rescued two kids that have codes about every single son of a bitch out there with everyone that owes them money or ever did business with them." I rub my face tiredly. "Do you think it was it real? Or was it just a dream?"

Jo frowns. "Personally, I think it was real. I could actually touch Patrick so doesn't that mean it was real? Maybe it was another one of our abilities?"

"Yeah, maybe" I reply, sighing. "I miss the three of them so much but at least we can talk to them whenever we want to, right?"

"Yeah, well at least we can talk to them after we win this battle" Jo says optimistically.

"Yeah, that is if we even survive" I mutter quietly.

Jo scowls at me and snaps. "Shut up. If anyone is going to survive, it's going to be you. You're the strongest out of all of us."
