Recap: I crawl my way over to Thorin, streaking the ice with my blood.

Chapter 32

When I finally reach Thorin's side, I grab his hand in mine. "No, Thorin. No, no, no. Please you can't die." Tears prick at my eyes. I hear light footsteps run across the ice towards us. Bilbo is the first of the Company to arrive. He kneels down beside me at Thorin's side.

"Ash. Bilbo" Thorin gasps, painfully. He tries to sit up but Bilbo pushes him down again.

"No, don't move. Lie still" Bilbo tries to order Thorin. Bilbo pulls back Thorin bloody armor and tries not to puke at the sight of the large, deep wound n Thorin's chest.

"I wish to depart in friendship" Thorin tells us sadly.

"No. You're not going anywhere. You're going to live" Bilbo mutters to Thorin.

"Thorin, don't say anything. You're going to live" I beg Thorin.

Thorin chuckles at me. "I would take it all back...my words and my actions at the Gate. You two did what only at true friend would do. Forgive me. I was too blind to see it. I am so sorry...to have lead you two into such peril."

"No, no.  I'm glad to have shared in your perils, Thorin" Bilbo contradicts.

"No, you're an idiot if you think that. This was the best quest I've ever been on. And I thank you for it" I argue. Jo dashes over to me and grabs Thorin's other hand. She's sobbing hysterically. "Please don't die. You supposed to be King!"

"I'm happy to have joined you on each and every one of them. It's far more than a Baggins deserves" Bilbo adds, tears streaking down his face.

Thorin has blood on his lips. "Farewell, Master Burglar. Go back to you're books. And you're armchair. Plant your trees. Watch them grow. If more people...valued home...above gold...this world would be a merrier place." Thorin coughs, painfully.

"No. Hold on please. The Eagles are here" Bilbo begs Thorin.

"NO, NO! Don't you DARE die on me Thorin Oakenshield! You do NOT have my permission to fucking die!" I snap at Thorin. I tighten my grip on Thorin's hand. I take a deep breath. I feel pain run up my arms. I groan as pain crawls farther up my arms but I don't let go. I hear Jo groan as well. After a few minutes, Jo closes her eyes and screams. She rips her hand away from Thorin's and falls back into Fili's arms, breathing heavily.

Thorin's wounds are very slowly beginning to close up. I continue to hold on and I close my eyes. I throw my head back and scream loudly. I still don't let go. I have to heal him. I can vaguely hear Kili yelling "NO, Ash. Let go. You have to let go."

I ignore him and continue to hold on to Thorin's hand. I feel all my old wounds reopening. I scream again and Kili rips my hand out of Thorin's. I fall back onto the ice with my head in Kili's lap. I look up at Kili. He's blurry as I see dark spots cloud my vision.

THIRD PERSON-----NO ONE'S POV

Ash falls back into Kili's lap. Kili looks frantically down at her. He strokes her hair as all her old wounds being to open up as if they are new fresh wounds. "No, Ash. No, please don't. Please" Kili mutters, hugging Ash's barely conscious body closer. He looks up at the rest of the Company who have gathered to witness the two Spirit Binders heal their King.
