"What do you mean you killed your parents?" Itachi inquired slightly confused but more so shocked about my confession.
"You'd better come inside to talk. The walls have ears" I whispered to him.
We went inside my apartment taking off our shoes as we entered. I switched on the lights and went to the kitchen to boil some water to make tea.
Itachi took a seat at the table quietly watching me as I prepared the tea leaves and waited for the kettle to boil. I poured the water into the teapot and took out two cups
and placed them in front of us as I sat opposite Itachi. He took the teapot and poured the tea into cups and put mine in front of me.
I took a deep breath and began my story.
"I was born under a red moon not long after your mother gave birth to you. My mother was of the Senju clan and my father an Uchiha. I was born and I made no sound. As I entered this life
I took my mothers from her. I killed her in childbirth and in doing so I was born with an awakened mangekyo sharingan although this didn't materialize until
a few days later. My father was consumed by grief and refused to look at me therefore I was sent to stay with your mother who nursed me.
It was your mother who first witnessed my strange sharingan. She was shocked to find that it was purple not to mention that I even had one at all
considering how young I was. It was unheard of within our clan and so your father and the village elders decided it would be best if they sent me away with bodyguards posed as parents to live under the radar in order
to keep me and our clans secret safe. I had no idea who or what I was. I only thought that my eyes were a birth defect and that I was the only one who knew about them.
I was due to come back here on my seventh birthday to train at the academy but before we could make the trip my home was attacked and everyone
was killed, Uchiha's and enemies alike. When I arrived here in the village Lord Hokage explained my past to me and I was sent to live with your family for the second time.
The rest is history"
Itachi looked at me with curious eyes. I knew he had questions now but asking them wasn't in his nature.
"Go ahead and ask" I told him
He hesitated, taking a sip of his tea.
"You said you killed your parents but you only mentioned your mother. What of your father's demise?" he asked
"He died not long after my mother. Grief brought him to his end. That's all I know. I replied quietly
"I'm very sorry Kasumy. I didn't realise how much you have suffered from your past" he told me with concern in his voice.
"A good shinobi always endures" was all I said.
He looked at me and after a few more sips of our tea he asked "So is that why you had the private lessons with Shisui?"
"What did you hear?" I asked him.
"We just heard that you had a strong gift for genjutsu and there wasn't much the academy could teach you. I noticed how you never use your sharingan when on missions with other teams
so I've never actually seen it for myself. Would it be possible for you to show me now?" he asked politely
"I looked at him, his eyes were devoid of judgement. I trusted my life to him so I made the decision. I nodded.
