I got through math, of course, I couldn't stop thinking about Mr. Parker.

I'm on my way home and my phone rings. It's Miranda.

"Hey! Do you wanna come over and hang out?" Miranda asks.

"Uh sure. I'll be over in ten. I'm driving so I got to go!" I hang up the phone and make a U-turn heading the over way towards Miranda's.

I pick up my phone and I text my mom real quick.

Heading over Miranda's, I'll be home before dinner. Love you!

I toss my phone down and continue to drive.

I arrive at Miranda's and park my car in the driveway. I grab my book bag and run up to the front door. I swing open the door. "I'm here!" I yell loudly.

"Come up to my room."

I go up the steps, stepping on every other step due to my long legs. I reach the top and walk into Miranda's room and plop down on the bed.

"You should really clean this place a little." I teased.

"Shut up. Now tell me about Mr. Parker!" Her eyes glowed.

I roll my eyes, "Well, he just told me not to talk in class and he kind of heard what you said about him.." I trailed off.

"What do you mean kind of?"

"He heard that you called him hot."

"Oh my gosh. that's so embarrassing."

"It is what it is. But he is so hot!" I said with a big smile on my face.

"He seemed to like you, Carter." Miranda said. She didn't smile. She was serious.

"What do you mean?"

"You didn't see the smirk he gave you in the beginning of class?" I shook my head yes, "And for the rest of the class he kept staring at you like you were the only person in there." Miranda was saying.

"Oh man. That means he likes me...?" I semi-questioned.

"That or he thinks you're pretty," She grew a smile on her face, "or really ugly." She bursts out laughing.

"Stop it! I hate you. But Miranda..."

"Yes?" she said after calming herself down.

"I think I like him."

"How? You guys just met today." she looked confused.

"I don't know. I just got that feeling. You know? Ours eyes met and it felt like we were the only two people...on earth." I gulped, "And after class when I stayed to talk to him, I got butterflies. My stomach twisted when he smirked. His beautiful brown eyes were staring deep into mine. I've never felt like this around another guy before."

"I think that's so cute, Carter."

"Thanks I guess."

"You guys would be so good together, to be honest." She giggled a little.

"Not going to lie, I think so too." We both cracked up.

"Man! it's already 6 o'clock. I better head home now!" I get up and gather my shoes and bag. I hug Miranda and go outside to my car.

I got home and went up to my room to drop off my things, then went down stairs. "Hey mom." I kissed her in the cheek as she flipped over the last hamburger.

"Hey honey. How was your first day?"

"It was good!"

"Good. Was there any cute boys?" My mom joked.

"Actually, yes."

"Oh really?" My mom turned to me, and my dad walked in through the front door, "tell me later." She winked and kissed my dad.

"Hi, Carter." My dad hugged me and we both sat down at the table, ready to eat.

Mom sat the plate of burgers down on the table. Dad and I both reached for one to place on our buns.

"So how was your first day?" My dad said and then took a bite out of his burger.

"It was fun." I smiled and looked over at my mom who started giggling.

"Fun? I think that's the first time I've heard you call school fun!" My dad laughed.

After we all finished our burgers, we cleaned up our dishes.

"Thank you honey. I think I'm going to head upstairs and go to bed, it's been a long day." My dad loosened his tie and kissed me on my forehead.

"I'll be up there soon!" My mom called up to him.

"Okay now tell me about this boy." My mom said quietly.

"Man." I corrected.

"Oh?" Moms eyebrows raised.

"Mr. Parker. He's my English teacher. He is really hot." I exclaimed.

"Not what I was expecting." Mom dried her hands on the dish towel.

"Miranda thinks so too" I mentioned.

"Don't get into any trouble, Carter. And don't do anything you're not supposed to."

"I know," I started walking towards my room. "goodnight mother."

"Goodnight dear." She smiled and headed towards her room.

I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. Mr. Parker. I thought to myself.

This is going to be a great senior year.
