"So how was your day?" He smiled.

"Good." I said quietly, not looking at him.

"Just good? I think you're forgetting something."

"Just good." I knew what he was talking about. The kiss. I wanted to forget about it.

"What's wrong? You didn't like the kiss?"

"Honestly," I looked at him, "let's just forget about that."

He looked at me. He looked...hurt. I guess he doesn't realize that he hurt me. I didn't really want to forget about us kissing, but I couldn't let it bother me.

The rest of the ride home was silent. I felt bad but I was mad. Beyond mad, but more hurt.

Bryce turned into my neighborhood and pulled up into my driveway. I open up the door immediately after parked.

"Bye, Carter." He said, innocently.

"Bye, oh and I almost forgot," I turned to look him in the face, "Tell Olivia I said hi."

Nothing but a blank expression filled his face. I left him speechless.

I run up to my front door and unlock it. I step inside.

"Mom? Dad?" No answer. They aren't home yet. I look outside the window and see a clear driveway, no cars, no teachers.

I settle down up in my room and did my homework.

Ring. Ring. I look at the caller ID.

It's Bryce. Declined. I felt back for what I said earlier, but he deserved it. Taking out another girl the day we kissed. It wasn't just a regular kiss. It was full of passion and it gave me a sensation no other kiss has given me before.

My thoughts were interrupted by yet another phone call from Bryce. I declined it once again. I didn't feel like talking to him, and I didn't even know what I was gonna say.

I decided to relax, so I payed back in my bed and turn on the t.v. After a couple minutes of watching Catfish, I here my phone ringing. This time it wasn't Bryce, it was my mom.

"Hey honey!" She said cheerfully.

"Hi mom." I said with as much emotion as I could. Even though I tried to relax, I was still pissed off.

"Would you like to join me and your father out for dinner tonight? We are going out of town for a couple days for a business meeting!"

"Sure mom!" I was actually really excited, this would definitely take my mind off of things.

"Awesome, we'll get ready. Me and your father will be home in 1 hour. Love you!" it was 5 o'clock now.

"Love you too." I hang up the phone. I hopped up and turned off the tv. I got undressed and stepped into the shower. I blasted my music.

30 minutes later I turned off the water and got out. I pick up my phone and see the I have 4 missed calls from Bryce. Oh gosh. I mumbled.

I finished getting ready. I put on clothes that were nice, not too nice but at the same time not too casual. I went downstairs, just in time to see my mom calling.

"I'm outside!" She exclaimed.

"Coming out. See ya." I hung up and walked outside.

The ride to the restaurant was short since my dad picked Romano's. Romano's is my favorite restaurant, it has delicious Italian food.

We meet up with dad, in the back of the restaurant.

We were all sat down in our booth. Dad, of course, started blabbing about his job. Then mom cut in and started talking about something I actually liked talking about. Gossiping about her girl friends.

After 10 or so minutes of talking we all shut up. Our food arrived. But so did something else. Someone else.

I was just staring at him. He noticed me and his eyes bulged when he realized it was me. What was weird was that it was only him, Jackson, and a girl who was holding hands with Jackson.

"Honey, what's wrong? You haven't touched your food. I though chicken parm was your favorite?" My mom asked, concerned. She's right, I loved any type of chicken in any type of form.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine!" I reassured. I picked up my fork and started eating. Buzz. Buzz.

Meet me by the bathrooms.

Bryce texted me and I saw him get up and walk towards the restrooms.

"Excuse me. I need to use the bathroom." I said. This time I didn't ignore him. I wanted to talk to him. I got up and walked to the other side of the restaurant.

"Hey, Carter," Bryce waved his hand. He said that quietly but it got my attention, "You look beautiful." I rolled my eyes but I could feel my cheeks turning red.

"What do you want?" I crossed my arms.

"I want to explain."

"Well just to let you know I over heard you and your buddy talking in your room earlier." I said kinda sassy.

"Look, I'm sorry. Olivia is my ex. But we decided things weren't working out for us. So now we are really good friends."

I shrugged, even though it was great to here that.

"After what you said, before getting out of my car, my heart dropped. I realized I've made a big mistake. I didn't know that we were close enough for me to ask you on a date." He looked really sorry and I felt awful.

"I'm sorry Bryce." I let my arms down.

"It's okay Carter." He smiled genuinely.

"I should head back over to my parents now." I turned and walked away. After a minute or two I saw him walk back to his table.

After dinner, we drove back home.

"Okay Carter. Your mother and I have to leave now, we have to catch our plane at 10 and we have two hours to do so. I love you." Dad said leaning down and kissing my forehead.

"Love you Carter." Mom also did the same thing.

"Love you guys, be safe." Mom and dad left, closing the door. I could hear a car start up and pull out of the driveway.

I laid in bed for two hours, watching The Best Of Me. Bryce hasn't bothered to text me. Buzz. Buzz. As on cue, my phone vibrates.

Goodnight beautiful:) Be ready tomorrow at 6:30. I'm picking you up again.

I smiled.

Goodnight Bryce.

He's your teacher, Carter! Stop it!

But I can't help it.
