I wake up in the morning, early, this time. I try to dress in my nicest clothes because I feel good this morning! I brush my hair and parted it to the right. Then, I go downstairs and grab a bagel.

"Good morning, mom!" I say cheerfully.

"You're in a good mood this morning."

"It's beautiful outside!" I say, looking out the window.

"It's supposed to rain later, you know?" Mom informs me.

"Great," I sarcastically said. "Can you pick me up from school later?"

"I'll see if I can, now go before you miss the bus! Love you."

"Love you, too" I run outside just as the bus was pulling up. I get on the bus and go back to my seat. I put my earbuds in and stare out of the window.

Ten minutes later we arrive at school. I quickly stop at my locker to unpack and grab my books for first period. I have English first, with Mr. Parker.

I walk into home room and see Miranda. "Hey!!" I wave.

"Hey, Carter. You look really nice today!" Miranda says, scanning me up and down.

"Thanks. Did you get your hair died?"

"Yeah." She starts twirling her hair.

"Okay, everybody take your seats. Looks like everybody's here today." Mrs. Lewis yells over the chatty teens.

After announcements Miranda and I walk to Mr. Parkers class.

"Great, assigned seats." Miranda mumbled.

"Oh yay. I'm in the front and you're on the opposite side of the room as me." I roll my eyes and Miranda huffs at my sarcasm.

I plop down into my seat, which is right in front of Mr. Parkers desk and next to a guy named Nick.

"Good morning everyone. Beautiful day isn't it?" Mr. Parker claps his hands then rubs them together. Everyone sighs. "Get out your notebooks and your signed syllabus."

I get out the syllabus and notebook.

"Carter, do you mind getting up and collecting the papers, please?" Mr. Parker asks me.

"Sure." I got up and walked past him, almost touching him. He smells so good.
I walk to Miranda's desk and she hands me a note.

I place the stack of papers onto his desk and sit back down and opened up the note that Miranda gave me:
He was so checking out your butt.

I blushed and mouthed "Shut up" in Miranda's direction.

"Miss. Davis, please do your warm-up." Mr. Parker said strictly.

"Geez." I turned around and started writing.

I was thinking about what Miranda was saying when I was at her house. About Mr. Parker staring at me. I looked up and I saw him. Mr. Parker was staring at me. And once I looked up, he quickly looked down and he blushed. He is so cute.

The period went by quickly, so did the rest of the day. I only care about Mr. Parkers class and it's the only class I pay attention in.

I pack up my bag and walk to the front of the school. I take my phone out of my pocket and text my mom.

Me-Hey mom! Are you on your way?
Mom-Sorry, honey. I'm working late tonight. Can you have a friend drive you home?
Me-Yeah that's fine. See you at home.

Great.

Me: Hey Miranda, can you drive me home from school?
Miranda: Sorry I took the bus.
Me: And I just missed it.

"Hey, Carter! Need a ride?"

I turn around and see Mr. Parker in his car. A black Range Rover.

"I-I don't think I should."

"Hop in. You'll be fine," He smiled a real smile. I sat in the passenger side. "What happened?"

"What do you mean?" I ask, my voice kind of shaky.

"You don't have a ride."

"My mom had to work late."

"Ohhh," He keeps looking over at me and then back at the road. "Tell me where you live."

"Okay."

He looks so good. His dress shirt sleeves are rolled up and you can see him arm veins. Just now, it starts to rain.

"Ugh," I partly sigh. Mr. Parker chuckles.
"What?" I question.

"Nothing." And now he's laughing. He looks over at me and stares at me. I stare back. His beautiful brown eyes sparkled as they looked right into mine. Without thinking, I looked down at his hand that was rested against his thigh, and place mine overtop of his.

Our eyes break apart and he pulls his hand away.

"Sorry..." My face was burning. "Stop the car." I said, unbuckling.

"What?"

"Stop the car, Mr. Parker." I grabbed my book bag as he pulled over. I opened the door and stepped out into the pouring rain.

"It's raining, get back in the car." Mr. Parker called after me. But I slammed the car door. I felt like crying, that was the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me.

When I hear his car speeding up to me, I walked faster.

Mr. Parker rolled down his window, "Get in Carter." he demanded.

I wanted to argue, but I was soaked and freezing, so I got in.

When I got in, he handed me his soccer jacket. It was warm.

"Carter, listen."
