Run

Meredith gasps, and then she has trouble breathing. It was like her whole world was crashing down. Gasping for air, she breathes in and out.

"Mommy, are you ok?," Sage asks worriedly, at her mothers side, clutching to her shoulder.

"I-I...," Meredith is speechless. It was like the words wanted to come out, but they would never leave her mouth. 

Sage stares at her mother in wonder, her mind racing, praying that her father was alive, and wondering who that man was. Sage turns to look at the man, he didn't ring a bell.

"Mommy, who is that?," Sage starts to fill with anger, wanting to punch the man in the face.

"YOU KILLED MY DAD!," her anger builds stronger and stronger and she screams at the top of her lungs.

"Oh, little Sage, look at you, you've grown the past years," the man chuckles walking closer and closer towards Sage.

Sage whimpers and slowly walks back, she wants to cry. She bursts into tears not controlling her emotions, she doesn't know how to feel. She is sad and upset her dad has died, she's afraid of this man she did not know but he sure as hell knew her, she's worried about her mom just standing there frozen, she feels terrified because she doesn't know what to do. She feels weak, she collapses to the ground and crawls into a ball.

Police sirens can then be heard in a distance, getting louder and louder she knew they were closer, and the closer they were, she knew she would be safe. Someone would save her, her mother, and her father.

"S-Sa-Sage, get away from h-him, pl-please, you're not safe near him. Go, run," Meredith stutters and shakes, she slowly reaches for the ground and sits there in silence.

"Wh-what?," Sage asks confused, her mom isn't making sense. Run? Where will I go? I'm still young and so little, I can't do anything, what is she trying to say? WHO IS THIS PERSON TALKING TO ME?, Sage wonders and questions in her mind. Her head spins from all the questions and emotions that's going on in her head, her feelings, the image of her dad dead on the ground, his voice and the last words he said almost telling Sage he loved her, too. She slowly lays on the ground and shivers, she can't control anything in her body anymore,

"I told him I loved him and I'm happy he know knows," she blinks her eyes twice and faints.
