Chapter 14: Your WHO???

VALKYRIE'S POV:

I hardly had any time to cry out, all I could register was a burning sensation around my throat, the veins throbbing painfully as Caelan sucked my life away. 

Suddenly the fangs were ripped from my neck and I fell to the floor gasping in pain. I pressed onto the wound, trying to stop the blood, but I was so weak and I was starting to see black spots in front of my eyes. Tanith came and crouched down next to me removing my hands and applying even harder pressure. That was when I couldn't take it anymore and I blacked out.

TANITH'S POV:

I felt Valkyrie slump down in my arms and looked down to find the girl unconcious in my lap. Ghastly and Skulduggery ran over after fighting the vampire off. I must've looked a right sight, Valkyrie on my lap covered in her blood.

"Take her to Nye," he said, showing no obvious emotion, but I knew on the inside this was killing him. I merely nodded and Ghastly called Fletcher who quickly came and teleported us out of there. Frankly, I have had quite enough of vampires for a long time.

After depositing Valkyrie with Nye, I went out into the corridor where Ghastly was waiting for me.

"Hey," he said, hands in his pockets, staring intently at me.

"Hi," I said walikg closer.

"You ok?" he asked, stepping closer, carressing my cheek. My breath hitched as he leaned closer. I couldn't quite believe he was doing this.

"Uh, yeah," I stammered, trying to get the words out.

"You sure?" he asked again, stepping even closer.

"Y-yeah, I'm sure," I stuttered again, you couldn't even slip a piece of paper inbetween us. Ghastly leaned closer still.

"I don't think you are," he whispered, his lips brushing against mine. I couldn't handle it anymore and grabbed Ghastly's collar, crashed my lips onto his. One arm wrapped around my waist and one ran through my air. I wrapped my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss I had desired for so long.

SKULDUGGERY'S POV:

As much as I was worried about Valkyrie, there was something about this place that seemed familiar to me. So being the curious one I was, I decided to search the place more. None of the doors upstairs or on the ground floor held much interest, until I found a door leading to a basement of sorts. I slowly and quietly walked down the stairs into the dark room, searching along the walls for a light switch.

At last my hands found a switch on the wall and upon turning it on the room lit up in a harsh glow. I turned around and the sight that I saw shocked me. A woman was strapped to a metal table with various wires coming out of her body. I gasped and rushed over when I realised who it was.

"Maleficent?" I called to the woman who appeared to be unconcious. A small moan left the woman's lips and her eyes slowly opened.

"Skulduggery?"
