Cold And Dark - Michelle

It was cold and dark
The street was empty
No one to see
No one to help
No one to care
Not that there ever is
She was walking alone
Clutching a bottle
It was almost empty
She was singing a sad song
Her words slurring
Her tears staining her lips
She had just taken a bottle of sleeping pills from her mother
Pulling them out she swallowed ever one of them
Taking a sip of vodka after each until both bottles were gone
Wandering aimlessly for a while
She started to get dizzy
She leaned against a light
Looking around at the dark and cold street
In a dark and cold town
In a dark and cold world
She started to get nauseous
The pills were working
She thought of her little sister
And how much she would miss her
How she hated leaving her
She was slowly loosing consciousness
Her body numbing
She couldn't move anymore
Her mind started to think about her life
How hopeless it seemed
And then she thought about the future
How she had never seen one
But now she could see herself with a family
And a job
And being happy
It all seemed so possible
If she had waited a year
She could have taken her sister away and gone to collage
She saw how bright her future could of been
After seeing that she started to see the happiness in her life now
She realized she didn't want to be dead
But it was too late
She couldn't do anything
And she was all alone on this cold and dark street
Everything got very dark and cold
As she lost consciousness tears came out of her eyes
Because she didn't want to be dead
She wanted to try to live just a little longer
But it was too late
She had taken the pills
She had written the note
And she had said goodbye
