When Love Takes You In (Jennifer Lawrence)

It was after our final rehearsal for 'Ramona and Beezus'. I was excited for tomorrow's show, the end of school, Christmas, and DISNEY! But now I was kinda afraid and worried all mixed together. I was gonna go see Tessa. It was the first time I would have seen her since the car accident. Mom and I were in the car on the way to Tessa's house. I had Tessa's present sitting in my lap. I was just hoping she would somewhat remember me.

Tessa's mom said that she had been showing Tessa pictures of her friends and family. She said that when Tessa was shown the picture of me and her at dance practice, she said it looked kind of familiar. That made me feel a little better, that she seemed to almost try to remember me. I was starting to feel my palms get sweaty as we pulled into her driveway. "You ready?" Mom asked as she turned to me.

I nodded and undid my seat belt. I saw her motion sensor light kick on in the darkness as I got out of the car. I approached the house with my present. Mom was staying in the car, she said she wouldn't want to overwhelm Tessa with too many unfamiliar people.  I approached the door and carefully knocked.  I didn't know if anyone was sleeping, even though it was only seven-thirty.  Tessa's mom came up and answered the door.

"Hi Genesis.  I have good news.  Come on in." she said.  I smiled and said hi.  "Good news?!  What is it?" I asked with excitement.  "Her memory is coming back!  She's remembering more of her friends, including you!" she said.  My smile probably looked like a crescent moon.  I saw Tessa sitting in the living room with a smile.  I walked over to her, present in hand.  "Hi Tessa." I said shyly.  I felt like I didn't know her.

"Hi...Genesis?" she said, more like asked.  "Yeah, I'm Genesis." I said.  "I remember you kinda.  You and that girl, Chloe, were in the car when the accident happened.  Are you okay?" she asked.  "Yeah, I'm fine.  I just had a concussion.  How are you feeling?" I asked as I sat down next to her on the couch.  "I'm feeling okay.  It's getting easier to remember stuff.  It's kinda coming back.  I went to the doctor office and she said that I should have my full memory back within a month!" Tessa said excitedly.

"That's awesome!  Well, I got you this for Christmas." I said as I handed her the bag.  "Thanks!  Sorry I didn't get you anything." Tessa said as she looked at the pillow.  "It's okay!  You remembering me is awesome enough!" I said and we hugged.  "So what's been going on at school?  I think I'll be coming back at the end of January." Tessa said.  "Not a whole lot.  You may not remember but it's what Miss Parish, our teacher, calls 'The Daily Grind'?  Pretty much the same old, same old!" I giggled.

I think Tessa and I talked for the better part of an hour.  She told me about how she was trying to remember all of her family and so they made flashcards with names and faces of her friends and family.  She said it sounded crazy at the time, but it actually helped a bunch!  That's how she said she was remembering me and Chloe.

I checked my iPod when it buzzed.  It was Mom texting me from the driveway.  'You almost ready?  I have the girls at home with Willow.' the text said.  I winced a little.  I kinda forgot she was still out there!  "Tessa.  I'm sorry, but I have to go.  My mom is waiting for me." I said.  "Okay-wait!  The flashcard said you were adopted?" Tessa said.  Oh no.  id she not remember the whole Jennifer Lawrence thing?  

"Um...yes I was adopted.  By Jennifer Lawrence." I said slowly.  "Jennifer Lawrence like the celebrity?!" She screamed.  "Um yeah." I said.  "That is super duper cool!" she gushed.  I was kinda scared now.  Before when she was the undamaged Tessa, she didn't care about my celebrity adoption.  But what if now the new Tessa only wanted to be my friend because of her?  "Yeah, uh well I gotta go.  Bye Tessa." I said hugging her.  "Bye Genesis!" she called out.

I could hear as I left, "OMG mom!  You didn't say she was adopted my Jennifer Lawrence!"  I took a deep breath.  She's just excited.  As soon as the old Tessa comes back, she won't care about the Jennifer Lawrence thing.

Right?

Super lame and short I know. Please give me ideas or this book will be experiencing a time skip and I'll just have to jump to my big events.  I know nobody likes time skips because you lose a lot of background info.  So please comment ideas.  It really helps me out guys.  Also the video above is of, yours truly, singing 'The Climb' by Miley Cyrus.  It's not my best but it will explain a little bit about me and my current life.  So yeah, thanks bye.
