Jen's POV

I was smiling the entire play.  Genesis was in almost every scene.  She was having so much fun, she lit up the stage.  I was not expecting all that crazy stuff to happen to her!  The egg, the spit peas, and her emotion when 'the cat' died.  She was so realistic with her acting.  "She's amazing." Josh whispered in my ear.  "I know right?" I said.  Josh had picked me and the kids up and drove us to the school for the play.  It had taken me a bit longer than usual to get ready, considering I had two four-year-olds to get ready also.

They were actually behaving a lot better than I had expected.  Stella was to my left, then me, then Josh, and then Tori.  Tori had warmed up to Josh pretty quickly.  Quicker than I thought.  I was figuring that she may have some trust issues, but you can't listen to stereotypes.  Most would say an abused kid would have trust issues, but not Tori, she was just happy-go-lucky.

We were watching the last scene and it made me kind of sad.  I could watch her forever on that stage.  I watched the quickest set change ever, and then she came on.  She also had the quickest costume change ever.  She got out of her regular outfit and into a white wedding gown in less than two minutes.  He hair had also been taken out of the braids and pulled back with a sparkly silver headband.

Genesis' POV

We started the scene with Hobart and Aunt Bea doing the wedding vows and then 'losing' the ring.  I 'found' it and gave it back to Hobart.  The wedding scene happened and then we moved onto the party part of the scene.  Our half of the stage went dark while Beezus and Henry had their part.  The whole crowd went crazy when Henry kissed Beezus.  The whole stage lit back up after that.

I had my conversation with my 'Dad' about him working at my school next.

"Dad?  What did my teacher call you about.  Cause I probably didn't mean to do it!"

"She was actually calling about an opening at the school."

"Opening?  For what?

"Well she showed the principle our mural and she showed it to the superintendent."

"So?"

"Long story short, I'm your new art teacher."

"Oh my gosh!  That's better than a lion tamer!"

"I owe it all to you R.  You make my life very colorful, and now I'm gonna bring it back to your school."

The audience 'aw'ed after that when we hugged.  Then we did a quick scene change to when Aunt Bea and Hobart are leaving.  "Aunt Bea!  Aunt Bea!  Wait, wait, wait!" I called as I ran onto the stage from stage left.  "What is it Ramona?" Aunt Bea asked.  I took the necklace from my hand and put it around her neck.  "So you can always have me around." I said, making the audience 'aw' again.  She looked down at the bracelet and said the last line before curtain call.  "Ramona, you're extraordinary."

The lights dimmed, the curtains closed, and we ran off to get into positions for curtain call.  I was coming in with Beezus at the very end.  The song 'All-American Girl' by Carrie Underwood started playing and then the curtains re-opened and the lights came on.  Everyone got their chance to go up.  The order went like this.

Crew

Ramona's classmates

Beezus' classmates

Henry, Willa Jean

Missus Meacham, Howie, Susan

Aunt Bea, Hobart

Mom, Dad, Roberta (baby doll), Picky-Picky (stuffed cat)

Ramona and Beezus

After everyone was on stage we did our cast and crew bow.  Kara had even lined it up so that we would all be ready in time to sing the ending chorus to 'All-American Girl'.

"I want a sweet, little, beautiful, one just-a like you."
"I want a beautiful, wonderful, perfect all-American..."

"Now he's wrapped around her finger"
"She's the center of his whole world"
"And his heart belongs to that sweet, little, beautiful, wonderful, perfect"
"All-American girl"

"All-American girl"

After that, Kara killed the lights from the deck and the whole crowd cheered for us.  We all left the stage quickly to go meet up with our families and friends.  "You did awesome bud." JJ said as we left the stage.  We high-fived each other as I did with most of the rest of the cast.  I went down the hall to try and find my mom, Josh, and sisters.  I saw a lot of kids from school who congratulated me, I stopped to take pictures with a few of them.

I found my family and ran up to hug them.  "You did amazing baby girl!" mom squealed.  "I am definitely buying one of the recordings of the show." Josh said as he hugged me.  "You were so cool!" Stella said as I hugged her.  "You did super good!" Tori said when I turned to hug her.  "Thank you guys so much." I thanked them.  "You wanna get pictures with your friends?" Mom asked.  I nodded and then after that we went around getting pictures with pretty much the entire cast.

"I gotta go change.  I'll meet you guys in a minute!" I called as I went back to change in the dressing room.  "Way to go Gen.  You were awesome." a lot of the girls told me.  I said that they all did fantastic too.  "Anyone seen JJ?" Liz asked as she helped take my stage makeup.  "No I didn't see her.  Maybe she had to go." the girl who was one of Beezus' friends said.  "I saw her leaving pretty much right after the show." I said.  "Eh, boyfriend is probably taking her out." Liz said.

I changed back into my regular outfit and filled my pink storage bucket with all my stuff from backstage.  It had my regular Ramona outfit, the picture day outfit, and the wedding dress.  I had brought in all my own clothes for my costumes.  I also packed in all my hair and makeup stuff that I had brought.  I grabbed the food that I brought backstage with me, you know, just in case.

"Are you gonna do summer theater?" Liz asked as I started to get ready and go.  "I might!" I said.  "Bye guys, love ya'll!  You were awesome!" I called out.  "Bye Genesis!  You were awesome!  Love you!" they called back.  I said goodbye to the guy actors as I went to go back and find my family.  "G?" I heard.  I spun around and saw Kara.  "Hi Kara!  Did we do good?" I asked.  "You were all very good." she said.  She smiled and then said, "Genesis, I hope to see you in summer theater and one day in my theater arts class when you get to high school.  You plan to keep on acting?" she said.  "Totally!" I said with spunk.

"Alright.  Well, until next time Miss Lawrence." she said.  "Bye Kara." I said and waved bye to her, before picking up the bucket and going to find my family.
