You Didn't Know

I woke up the next morning feeling restless. Thankfully I had the day off so I could cat nap if need be. The other bonus to this fact was I would get to know the handsome stranger in my home better. I sat up out of bed and did my normal wake up morning yoga stretches and decided to head to the kitchen to make breakfast. I am normally up before Meredith so I am the one you makes breakfast and such.

So naturally I was surprised when I opened the door to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Meredith must have woke up early to be with her brother before she went to work.

Again I was surprised not to see my 5’3’’ roommate in the kitchen but her 6’ brother.  I quickly realized he was shirtless. He stood with his back to me searching through the cabinets probably for coffee cups. I stopped in my tracks looking at his muscular back and shoulders. For a guy with such a small frame, he sure was fairly toned.

I have to stop! Off limits Stella.

I walked over to the small china hutch where the coffee cups were and pulled two out. By this point in time he had noticed I was with him.

“I would have eventually found them you know.” He teased.

“I am sure you would have.”

I placed the cups down in front of him and looked up to see his face. He was already looking down at me with glint of something in his eyes that was hard to decipher. He didn’t move or say anything so I had to break the awkward tension that was rapidly brewing between us.

So I moved between him and the counter and I poured the both of us a cup of coffee. He was much closer to the counter than I could because as I moved I realized I had brushed up against him with my behind. I felt him tense up behind me. I wasn’t trying to flirt with him it just sort of happened.

So naturally when I felt Alex close the small gap between us I panicked. He rested his chest against my back and reached his arms across to rest on the counter in front of me. Once again he had me cornered. The contact was enough to make me tremble. My palms started to sweat, my heart felt like it was going to fall out of my chest and dragonflies awakened in my stomach. I pressed myself further away from him into the counter but he just followed with me. Bad idea!

“You make it very hard to concentrate when you’re around.” He huskily whispered in my ear.

“I can ensure you I don’t know what you mean.” I whimpered in reply.

“If you want me to remain keeping eye contact with you when we talk, you probably should cover more of yourself up. You make it hard.” He murmured seductively.

I don’t even what to know what I made hard but I had a good idea.

It was in that moment I realized my current attire. I was in nothing but a cream colored cami, braless, with matching lacey boy shorts. Again, I am not used to a man being in the house.

“I’ll keep that in mind.” I whispered in response before pushing myself harshly against him forcing him to take a few steps back.

He got the idea that I was less than comfortable with the contact and he didn’t try again.

“You’re up awful early.” I teased him.

“I am an early bird and a night owl. The two really don’t mix.” He rubbed his face still trying to wake up.

“So I can assume the coffee is an act of self-preservation.”

“Normally.” He smiled taking his first sip. I could tell by his reaction it was still too hot.

“So what are your plans today Mr. Helix.”

He smirked at me hearing the use of his last name.
