This chapter starts with a journal entry and spirals out of control. I honestly busted this chapter out within a day and a half, a little here and there. Hope you all enjoy. Please leave me comments or something. I really what to know how you all think this is coming. It's been so much fun to write.
Thanks XOXO
September 19th
It’s been three days since the whole double date thing with Marco and Meredith. Things have been kind of weird between Alex and I over the past few days. I mean the first two days we knew each other he had been extremely touchy feely but he has since stopped. I know he is having complications with Leann. I heard them on the phone last night and it was heart breaking. I know Alex said he didn’t want to involve himself with me until he was certain that he was done with Leann. Was that an admission that he would like to be with me or am I just reading too far into it?
The way he looks at me sends me into cardiac arrest. I can tell he has something on his mind, something he wants to say, but he doesn’t. I would like to think it is about me but I doubt it. I mean Alex is gorgeous, talented, successful… and completely unavailable.
We’re supposed to go shopping tomorrow for our double date on Friday with my ex and his fiancé. I am not certain what he needs but I offered to take him to the mall to find whatever it is. I am worried sick about this date. I can’t tell you how much it is going to hurt to watch my ex with his new beau. Of course I can tell you how much, you know, you’re me.
I think I am going crazy.
“So where too first?”
Alex and I had just arrived to the mall in search of… I am not sure what we are in search of but he does seem to have an agenda.
“Is there like a Perfumaina in this mall or any kind of cologne store?”
“Yeah, there is a Perfumaina near the food court.”
Cologne? Okay, perhaps he was running low. We migrated over towards the food court and I was distracted by the Piercing Pagoda’s annual blow out sale. I stayed back while Alex continues on his cologne quest.
Before I knew it there was an Alex at my side. He startled the shit out of me.
“Whatcha looking at?”
“These earrings.” I smiled up at him. “I think I’ll come back Saturday for them.”
“Why not get them now?”
“I have bills to pay. I just want to make sure I can afford them is all.”
“Okay love.”
He had a habit of calling me that, which was weird. It made us sound like we were a couple. I knew it was a term of endearment but it always made me redden.
“Where to now?”
“Hot Topic?”
“Really?”
“Yeah” He smiled. “What? I scream I shop at that place.”
This was true but not where I thought this trip would bring us. We walked in a briefly strolled through the store. Hot Topic became such a weird place to shop as of like three years ago. Back then it was all about punk wear and Tripp clothing, now it’s all about what’s hot and trendy, like Justin Bieber. What the hell happened to Hot Topic? It’s so sad now days.
