Pokemon: Battle of Eras

<Caesar P.O.V>

  They group began to walk quietly down the pathway, Caesar wasn't awfully sure about how long it would take to get to Romeville City, he also didn't know how to get there, so he was glad for the company. They walked in silence for about half an hour before Freya started talking. "Well, since we're going to be together for a while, why don't we get to know each other first?" She seemed to speak as if she was posing a question, but she didn't wait for anyone to answer. "I'll start, I'm 13 years old, I was born here and have lived here in Roma Town ever since, I wanted to become a trainer so I can beat the Kodai League." She paused. "So who's next?" Rose and Tyrun gave each other odd looks, so Caesar spoke instead.

  "I'll go next then. I'm also 13, I was born in Hoenn and have only just moved here to Kodai, and I wanted my Trainer Card so that I could become a top coordinator." Tyrun seemed to suppress a snort.

  Rose went next, "I'm 15, I'm from Kodai, I live in Romeville and I also want to be a coordinator." Tyrun was brief as well, he was also 15, and he lived in Romeville City as well, but unlike Rose, he wanted to become a Gym Leader. Everyone was quiet for a bit. "Hey, Caesar?" Rose began to ask. "Do you want to also do a doubles contest as well as the singles, we could be a team?" Caesar smiled.

  "Sure," he replied eagerly. Tyrun didn't suppress his snort this time.

  "Pokemon contests are weird, why don't you want to battle?"

  "Because, I don't like them," Caesar retorted.

  Tyrun snorted again, "I bet it's 'cos you can't battle."

  "Oh yeah? Why don't we battle then? Loser has to also compete in the winner's preferred competition." Caesar challenged. He was sick of Tyrun's abrasive attitude.

  "Sure," Tyrun replied.

  The group were lucky to find a small clearing for the battle, just before a forest seemed to start. "Rules are, two Pokemon, no interchanges, whoever knocks out both of the opponents Pokemon wins," Tyrun explains the rules.

  "We only have one Pokemon though," Caesar pointed out.

  "Don't worry, I've got another one, a gift, in case we got into to trouble." Tyrun got a glare from Rose.

  "And you can use my Chikorita," Freya volunteered.

  "There, settled, let's begin."

  "Ok, Both of you have to release your first Pokemon on my go. Alright, 3,2,1... Go!" Freya shouted out, she was acting as the referee.

  "Go Bubbles!"

  "Go FireFlame!"

  "Tackle!" Caesar shouted out.

  "Weaken him with growl!" Tyrun countered. His Torchic obeyed, and as a result was hit by a slightly weakened tackle. "Now use scratch!" he shouted.

  "Dodge it!" Caesar yelled out, hoping the Tiny Turtle Pokemon could. his Squirtle seemed to know he couldn't so he just turned around, using his shell as a shield, which worked... to some degree.

  "Squir," his Pokemon uttered a cry through gritted teeth.

  "Don't worry, try to use water gun," Caesar encouraged, he wasn't too sure about his Pokemon's current move set, or his opponent's, he hadn't studied them as he'd hoped to get a Pokedex. Luckily his Pokemon knew the move and let out a beam of water that managed to force the Chick Pokemon back. "Hit 'im again," Caesar commanded.

  "Dodge it, then use growl and scratch," Tyrun countered. It was easy for his Torchic to dodge, he was quite far from Squirtle. This also meant Squirtle managed to dodge the attacks.

  "How about tail whip, then water gun," Bubbles obeyed, managing to decrease his opponent's defence before hitting him with another water gun. Torchic was defeated.

  "Return," Tyrun said solemnly. He reached into his satchel. "Riolu you're up!"

  "Alright, hit Riolu with water gun!" Tyrun smirked.

  "Use quick attack to dodge it," he said calmly. The Emanation Pokemon obeyed, becoming a blur easily escaping the jet of water. The Emanation Pokemon then rammed into Bubble, knocking the Tiny Turtle Pokemon back.

  "Retaliate with tackle!" Caesar shouted out. Tyrun didn't need to say anything as Riolu used quick attack, again and again, making it impossible for Bubble to attack back. It wasn't long before the Tiny Turtle Pokemon was knocked out. Caesar sighed, "alright then, Petal it's your time to shine!" He released the Leaf Pokemon. "Razor leaf!" Chikorita obeyed, releasing a torrent of leaves upon the Emanation Pokemon. Riolu manages to dodge most of the leaves, but a few hit, knocking him back slightly.

  "Quick attack!" Tyrun commanded his Riolu. Petal had no time to dodge as she was hit again and again by an onslaught of quick attacks.

  "Chik!" The Leaf Pokemon cried out in pain, making Caesar wince.

  "Hang in there, use razor leaf again," he encouraged Petal. A swarm of leaves rocketed towards Riolu. Tyrun just smirked as his Pokemon easily escaped with quick attack, using it again to eventually get Petal to faint.

  Tyrun smirked, "looks like you'll be challenging the gym leaders." Caesar nodded, then went to check on his partner and return Freya's Pokemon.

  "Well, now that's been resolved, we better get through this forest as soon as we can if we want to reach Romeville in a couple of days," Rose informed the group. They quickly gathered their items and entered the forest.

  The forest was vibrant and alive, contrary to what Caesar imagined it would have been, making him feel a little safer. "We should try to catch some Pokemon," Freya suggested to the group, she was met with nods of approval. Because Freya and Caesar didn't have any pokeballs they had to borrow some from the others. They spent some time searching for Pokemon, all agreeing to meet at a large Oak that was in the centre of a small clearing after an hour. Caesar went off on his own, heading to the brightest area, there he found an array of Pokemon, most of which were Bug, or Grass type. He paused, looking around he found the Pokemon all seemed to be happy, except this one small bud shaped Pokemon, Caesar thought it may be a Budew. The Pokemon appeared to be crying, so he slowly crept over to it, "are you ok?" He asked.

  "Bud?" Budew replied, still in tears. Caesar pet its head gently.

  "Don't worry, if you want, you can come with me?" he offered the Pokemon. The Budew nodded, wiping the tears from its eyes. Caesar smiled, "then it's settled, how'd you like to be called Rose?" Budew smiled and nodded, clearly liking her name. Caesar grabbed one of the Pokeballs, capturing Rose.

  They all arrived back at the tree around the same time. "Shall we show what we've caught?" Tyrun asked, before waiting for a reply he released his new Pokemon; a Seedot "DarkLeaf."

  "Here's mine, her name is Rose," Caesar showed off his Budew. Rose had captured a Sewaddle, naming her Leaf. Freya's new Pokemon was a Joltik, which she had named Joltz. "It's dark out, maybe we should rest here?" Caesar half asked, half suggested. The group nodded in agreement and they set up their sleeping bags and began preparing their dinner.

A/N - hello again, sorry it's been forever since chap 1 ;-; I'm lazy, but it's ok, no ones reading this ;n; but on a nicer note, updates will be more frequent now I've got a complete plan, I hope everyone likes this as much as I do, have fun and see you in the next chapter :3
