"Let me in on this, too," he said in a slow and evil voice.
My heart dropped to my stomach when I realized that this kid may be behind this whole incident. Why do things like this only happen to me? Before I became completely discouraged, I heard the creatures, that were still holding me, mumbling amongst each other.
"Who the hell're you?" the leader snarled in disgust and spat at the white kid.
"Hichigo. Hichigo Shirosaki," the kid, Hichigo, said in a mocking tone," Haven't you heard of the Karakura Town Shinigami?" So his name is Hichigo? What kind of name is that?
"Of course we have," the leader rolled his eyes," But what do you want from this girl? We've already claimed her already, so move along!" Hichigo seemed to consider the situation for a moment before speaking. He grabbed something from behind his back and held it out in front of him. It was an enormous sword that was as tall as he was, and it resembled a very large knife. It had no distinguishable hilt, and the grip, or where it would have been, was wrapped in cloth that trailed to the ground.
"Well then, I guess I will have to fight you for her, am I correct?" Hichigo's mouth twisted into an evil grin, and he charged towards the creatures, towards me. So now I have rapists fighting over me. Could this day get any worse than it already is?
All five creatures released me, and I crumpled to the ground in pain. I'm almost positive that my ankles and wrists are shattered. I saw the five creatures jump at Hichigo at the same time, and I knew that he was a goner.
"You Hollow scum!" Hichigo screamed, and black light emanated from the sword in his hands. With a defiant yell, he brought the sword down on the creatures, and the black light enveloped them. "Let this be a lesson, low-lifes."
When the strange light shrouding them finally disappeared into the air, I saw Hichigo standing in the center of a circle do dead creatures. Their blood soaked into his white kimono, and even some of their blood was splattered on his face. His cold eyes turned on me, and somehow, they softened.
"Sorry that you had to see that," he said, wiping the blood from his face. Hichigo flicked the blood from his sword and sheathed it on his back, stepping over the bodies of the creatures. "Allow me to take care of you."
He is going to hurt me. He is not a good man, this Hichigo, not good at all. I know that this is probably going to be my last day of my life, or the last day of living in innocence. Either way is just as bad as the other, and just as cruel as the other. To have life ripped away, to have innocence ripped away, all in all is the same.
Hichigo walked towards me slowly, and I flinched each time he took a step. I met his gold eyes, and he stared right back. When he reached me, he knelt down beside me and slipped a cold hand under my chin. He tilted my head up and inspected me before gripping me under the arms.
"So, you can see me, Hikari?" Hichigo asked and picked me up from the ground. I nodded and let out a grunt of pain as my broken feet left the ground. "What is the matter?"
Is he actually worried about me? I thought he was a bad guy, like those creatures, so why would he help me?
"Ankle... Broken," I gasped out.
"I'm sorry, hang on a little longer," Hichigo whispered, and I only saw sympathy in his eyes. He cradled me in his arms and held me against his chest. I could feel myself drifting towards unconsciousness, even though there was pain shooting through every limb in my body.
Who is Hichigo? Why is he here? What is he doing? So many questions, so little answers. I guess this is just how the world revolves. Hichigo's chest was cold, but I found myself asleep within a few minutes.
