Moku's arm was still slung around my shoulder as we walked through the dark hallways, and I put nearly all of my weight on him. My stomach still stung from when Tobuko struck me with the hot iron poker. All I remember thinking at the moment was that if I got out, I would kill Moku and Tobuko, but then I ended up getting rescued. Now that I think about it, if it weren't for my friends, I would have died a million times by now.
"Are you feeling better," he asked softly, his breath tickling my ear," I'm still sorry about what Tobuko did to you, and I want to know if there is anyway to make up for it." I tried to hide my smile by biting my lip, but I gave up and let a small grin slip out.
"Stop worrying about me, idiot," I muttered, turning away from him," You've already made up for it, so let's just put this behind us." Moku laugh vibrated in his chest, and he tightened his grip on my arm. When he stopped laughing, his smile gradually faded, and he seemed to look downcast. I stared up at him, waiting for a response.
"I don't want to put it behind me! He hurt you and tried to force me to hurt you," Moku said sternly, his despair becoming apparent in his quavering voice. He dropped his head and stared at the ground, suddenly red. "Sorry for snapping. It's just... I want to remember what happened between us. That joy... that passion... I could never forget, and I don't want to forget. If there was to be one thing that I cling to, it would be that," Moku said gently, then he blushed even more and slapped a hand over his face," Sorry... I just made this awkward..."
"Don't worry about it," I said flippantly," Right now, we need to worry about getting out of here." Moku nodded as we trudged onward, and it felt as though we had been walking forever. I suddenly realized that we could've been going in circles the whole time, but I pushed the thought from my mind.
"Getting out, huh? Like hell I would let you do that," a feminine voice called from behind. I shoved Moku's arm from my shoulder and spun around on my heel to face the woman. She wore a dark set of armor and the only part of her body that I could see was her eyes staring at me. Her glare made a cold shiver run down my spine.
Before I could react, I was knocked to the floor by a steel toe boot slamming into my stomach. I coughed up a mouthful of blood, and strained to see what was happening. Pain erupted in my side, and I knew that I had several broken ribs by the way my side felt. Blood filled my throat once more, and I spat it out in disgust.
I saw the woman grab Moku by the hair and slam her head against him, knocking him out cold and dropping him to the stone floor. Her gaze shifted to me, and I could feel her murderous intent filling the atmosphere. The sound of her boots clacking against the floor as she made her way towards where I lie echoed in my ears.
"Have you no fight left in you, girl?" the woman snarled as she kicked me in the stomach once more, resulting in a sickening crack. Blood poured from my lips, and I curled into a fetal position. "Do something, Young One. You will not be able to stay human much longer, for your instincts are calling you."
Pain exploded through my body, yet the woman hadn't kicked me. Red blots clouded my vision, and my heartbeat echoed in my ears along with an eerily quiet voice that grew louder by the second. I screamed as my body convulsed and a metallic liquid began to bubble from my throat, and I recognized it as a CyberDragon transformation like last time.
Fight.
Kill.
Fight to kill! Kill to fight! We are no different than animals! Nothing more, nothing less! I am the primordial beast that stalks behind the enemy and kills it quickly, defying the morals! I am the serpent that slithers on the ground, the vilest of beasts! I am your instinct and your desire to fight, to kill!
Do you not believe in your own power, girl?
The voice called to me, and I tried to shut it out, but to no avail. It wailed louder and louder, and I screamed in anger.
Go away! Leave me alone!
Can you not see what is in front of your eyes? I am you!
The metallic liquid coated my body completely, and I could feel myself slipping farther and farther away from reality. If my instincts took over, it would cause much destructions, and I am afraid that I will loose myself in the process. But it is the only way, so I gave up. I felt as though I was watching from someone else's eyes as I submitted to my CyberDragon side.
Do you understand? In order to fight, you must give up your hopelessness known as morals! You must submit as the wolves do towards their desire to hunt! Be like the wolves! Run free, and release your instinct, girl!
I opened my luminous purple eyes and saw the woman in front of me. The fear radiating from her filled my nose, and I opened my jaws to let out a sigh. My tail lashed behind me, and I struck out at her with one of my blades.
Kill!
The metal tore through her leg, and I grinned with satisfaction when she let out a high pitched scream of pain.
Hunt!
Kill!
As the woman collapsed to the ground, I readied my jaws to snap her up, but I hesitated. My whole body denied the action I wanted to commit, and I fought against it.
Let me tell you something you don't understand, I said to my other side, instinct tells me differently! Killing for sport is not right, even in the eyes of a wolf. It is morals that binds us to our will, so I will resist you with my last bit of strength!
The presence of my CyberDragon half disappeared, and I collapsed to the ground as my form began to dissipate into thin air. As soon as I recuperated my senses, I ran over to help Moku. Beside him lie the woman, and she was in a puddle of blood and gasped in pain. Guilt twisted in my side, and I wanted to throw up. I had nearly killed the woman, and for once, I was glad that the enemy was alive.
