Alec's P.O.V.
"Magnus, are you coming to bed anytime soon?" Alec had been waiting for over an hour.
"Mhmm," was the only response Magnus ever gave. He had been looking at spell books all day long.
Alec sighed and walked back to their room. He pulled his sweats and T-shirt off and layed down on the bed in his boxers. Alec tried to stay awake as long as possible but he gave up trying around three in the morning.

When Alec woke up, the other side of the bed didn't even look disturbed. He got up to make a pot of coffee. He walked out of his bed room to find Magnus asleep on the couch. It looked like he had fallen asleep reading.
There was a book that lay open, pages down, on the floor. Alec sighed as he picked it up. A few of the pages were bent at the corners. He closed the book and put it on the coffee table.
Alec looked at his boyfriend, asleep on the couch. He slid an arm under his knees and around his back and carried Magnus to their room. He layed Magnus on the bed and covered him up before slipping out of the room quietly and shutting the door.
Alec put water in the coffee pot and filled a filter with grounds then let the pot brew. He didn't need to go to the Institute today, it's Sunday they usually don't train on Sundays.
"Daddy!" A tiny voice said. It was Max.
"Hey, bud, what are you doing up?" Alec didn't realize it at first but when he bent to pick his son up there were tears streaking down his navy blue face. "What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?"
"No." Max shook his head. "Monster."
"Where?"
"Under b-bed." His three year old stuttered.
"I'm sure there's nothing under your bed." Alec told him.
"Check?" Max asked.
"Alright give me a second." He set Max down on the couch and slipped into his room. He went to the closet, where he always kept an extra seraph blade. He grabbed it. Alec had checked under Max's bed before for monsters and found a Dravek waiting there, he wasn't taking any chances this time. Alec went back to where he had left Max on the couch.
"Come on." He held a hand out to his son and led Max back to his room. Max stopped at the door, refusing to go in. "It's okay, Max, there's nothing there."
When Max still refused to go in, Alec swept him up, protectively, into his arms. Alec put him down on the bed and pulled his witchlight out of his pocket. He got down on the ground and looked under Max's bed. "See? Nothing there."
"Sure?" Max seemed a little more calm.
"I'm sure buddy." Alec said standing up.
Max put his arms up to have Alec pick him up again. Alec gave a theatrical sigh and lifted his son. "I guess we should get some breakfast huh?"
Max nodded his head.

Alec made eggs and pancakes for breakfast. He put a small pancake and some eggs on a plate and cut it into small bites for Max. "Here ya go, bud." He says putting the plate in front of Max.
"Dank you!" Max says.
Alec lets out a short laugh and grins from ear to ear. "You're welcome."
"Good morning, Darling." Magnus said, walking into the kitchen. He placed a kiss on Max's head and walked right past Alec. That was weird. Magnus always kisses both Max and Alec. Alec didn't want to freak Max out by asking what was wrong so he decided to wait until he was alone with Magnus.
