Ch.23

Jewel POV:
After we finished eating, we all went for a walk, I made sure our defences were up just incase that creature tried anything.
We started walking towards a shop on the other side of the city, where paisley would find more supplies.
As we walked I noticed that design from the gas station appearing on more buildings.
" hey paisley isn't that the design from the shop" I asked.
She looked over at it.
" I think so" she said.
" well let's just continue walking" Ben said.
John nodded.
Me and paisley nodded as well, however that didn't stop me from thinking of the possibilities of that mark.

We made it over to the shop, were from what I can remember was a medicine and medical shop.
" go on paisley we'll wait out here for yah" I said.
She nodded heading inside.
Suddenly Lexi started barking and pulling on her leash.
" Lexi what's wrong" I called before I got my answer.
Paisley came running back outside with three walkers on her tail.
" ahhhh" she screamed running beside me.
I pulled out my swords looking around at everyone else, I noticed no one but me brought anything.
" you guys really need to be more prepared" I said before running towards the walkers.
Lexi pulled the leash out of bens hands, Ben never has been the strongest anyways but Lexi still is very strong even for John.
She ran beside me.
John quickly tried to grab the leash but by the time he did she jumped at a walker.
I jumped in myself, cutting one across the neck, blood ran down its body.
The red-ish, grey liquid covered the end of my sword.
" disgusting" I said under my breath.
The walker groaned and hissing before falling to the ground.
I smiled out of accomplishment, before I heard John scream from behind me.
" look out" he yelled.
I didn't understand what he meant, before it hit me.
I walker knocked me to the ground, I dropped both my swords on the way down.
The walker was on top of me, it's bloody salvia was dripping on my face.
It inched it's face closer to mine trying to bite me, using both my arms I pushed it away.
I wasn't able to get it off or reach for my swords.
I called out for someone.
" push it off, don't just stand there" I yelled.
Paisley ran up kicking it over, then helped me up.
John handed me my swords.
" thanks" I said.
I walked towards it, and quickly stabbed it through the neck.
It hissed one final time before its head dropped to the ground.
" that's two" John said.
I nodded heading over towards Lexi.
Ben was at her side, trying to do what he could to help her.
" move" I yelled, Ben moved to the side.
I brought my swords up and was about to swing when Lexi bite into its neck.
She ripped out a large piece and dropped it on the ground still growling at it.
It fell to the ground still hissing, it slowly drifted away.
" you ok" John asked.
" yep, never better but please next time bring your weapons" I said.
They nodded.
" sorry" Ben said.
" it's fine, but it's hard work killing walkers" I said heading towards the store.
" I'll quickly check it out for any more" I said heading inside.
I looked around seeing no walkers, but again I saw the strange mark.
What is it?
I walked around looking for anymore walkers, I checked every area.
Nothing.
I walked out.
" ok paisley your good to go, Ben head in with her would yeah" I said.
Paisley nodded and headed inside, Ben handed Lexi's leash to me before following her.
" so you find anything interesting" John asked.
" just... That mark or logo we keep seeing. What do yah think it is?" I asked.
" maybe... Nah" John stuttered.
" what?" I asked.
" well... I was going to say survivors, but that's not very likely... Right?" He said.
At this point it seemed more likely, what if that creature isn't a new animal but a survivor?
" you know what, it's a possibility" I said.
I looked over at the building with the mark, it was kinda hard to tell but maybe it was a k and r?
K and r.... No it can't be.
