John POV:
It's been a good day.
I liked Jewel, she was fun and out going.
I know I could trust her, and I'm so thankful for having her as my friend.
We just started walking to her house from our old school, where we first met.
I missed all my friends, but now having Jewel back has given me hope that the rest of my family and friends are still alive.
I hugged her not thinking before acting it out.
She hugged back.
It felt nice to have someone who knows and cares enough about me that we can hug.
Paisley wasn't the type of girl to do that, she made herself the Commander of operation so I couldn't really get closer to her.
However ever since we found Jewel paisley seems to have loosen up more, which I'm happy about.
And Ben well he's my best friend,
Me and him have been together ever since the walkers started walking.
I could always talk to him, but not in the way I talk to Jewel.
Jewel was just so understanding and open ups more, Ben and paisley are more strict and are more focused on the task at hand.
I never grow out of my teenager self, which I'm happy about.
I never wanted to be strict and serious, or at less not all the time.

We were only a block or so away from the house and with only seconds to spare because the sun was basically gone.
There was just enough light so we could see where we were going.
" AHHHH" I voice screamed in the distance.
" that sounded like Ben" I said running off.
Jewel quickly raced after me, " you sure that's Ben it's kinda sounded like a girl".
I couldn't help but laugh under my breath, I've known Ben forever and yeah he did sound like a girl when he screamed.
" yes it is I know that scream anywhere" I said.
We raced towards the house.

We ran all the way, once we got to the gate of her house we started looking around trying to find him.
Jewel ran one way I ran the other.
Another scream echoed through the darkness,  this time a bit deeper.
I ran towards the noise, finding Jewel and the ground and Ben near her also fallen.
" the hell happened" I asked.
" ask mister can't see where I'm running" Jewel said looking over at Ben.
" Ben the hells wrong with you, what happened" I yelled.
" I..I I was attacked by... I'm I ah... Umm" Ben stuttered.
" Ben get a hold of yourself" Jewel yelled.
I picked him off the ground, and helped him stand.
" now Ben what happened" I asked.
" well I think.... There's more people out there" he said still stuttering.
" what" I asked not believing what he was saying.
" I've lived here my whole life and never seen anyone, are you sure it wasn't a walker" Jewel asked.
" yes... No I'm not sure I was just attacked" he said running inside the gate.
" stay here and watch them I'll go find out for myself" Jewel said running off.
" what.. No wait!" I yelled chasing after her.
She ran off to fast and the darkness covered her tracks.
I walked back to the house.

I waited inside, worrying about Jewel.
Suddenly the door slammed open, and Jewel walked inside.
" so" I asked.
" nothing, I couldn't find anything" she said heading towards the living room.
I followed.
" Ben" she yelled,
" what were you attacked by".
" I...I don't know...it was large and cold" he stuttered.
He wasn't acting like himself.
" Ben just tell me" she said getting annoyed.
" I... I" Ben stuttered.
" whatever I didn't find anything, so what ever it was its gone" she said heading upstairs.
I thought it was best to say down here and talk to Ben myself.

Jewel POV:
Ugh.. Went out there risking my life for a lie.
Why doesn't he just tell me!
Whatever I don't have time for this, I have to plan to leave this place.
We can't stay here and wait for people to show up, we have to leave.
I have a place we can go to in Ontario, it's a long journey but we don't have much choice.
We leave in a few days when Lexi is better, if my friends come or not it's their choice.
I head downstairs, seeing all my friends sitting around.
" ok here's the deal, we're running out of supplies here" I said getting all their attentions.
" we have to leave Winnipeg" I said looking around at their faces.
