Ch.27

Jewel POV:
After starting the fire I headed towards the sleeping creature.
I looked it over the new light source illuminated part of its face.
The tape covering it's eyes and mouth made it hard to see what this creature was.
Paisley was right in saying it's very human like, maybe it was human?
It's hands and feet were tied together,
The hands and feet were human like.
" hey John, Ben" I said.
" yeah" they called back in union.
" I think it's human, like a Survivor maybe" I said.
" really" John said walking towards me.
" yep it's very human like, other then the few cuts and stuff, i'm pretty sure it's a survivor" I said.
" that's amazing, but we're not sure how he might react to us" Ben said.
" we'll keep him tied up, and as for the others we should continue to get everything ready" John said.
I nodded.
I carved some large sticks into spears and put them into the ground around us in a circle.
" looking good so far" John said, I nodded continuing to place them into three different rows.
There was open spots to the right and left of us incase we needed to run or something.
" huh mmm....MMMM..m" I heard from behind me.
" hey John I think he's waking up" I yell.
John walks over, " yep he is, but for now just leave him until we're done with the perimeter".
" good idea" I said heading over to carve more sticks.

After making a few rows of spear, we also put a few trip ropes around.
" let's start getting our weapons ready" I said.
We place a few by the wall of spears others near our docking area and a few stayed with us.
I had my crossbow and swords, which I always have.
Paisley slowly drifted back on shore, she jumped out now having a large backpack.
She dragged the raft up shore and walked towards us.
At this point the sun was just reaching the end of the lake, the sun slowly started to rise.
" nice work on the board" paisley said.
I nodded looking at the large bag she had.
" whatcha get?" I asked.
" some bandages and that healing plant you found, I also brought more knifes and ammo".
" great, let's try to heal this guy" I said walking towards him.
The fire was still going strong and with the sun now rising we had enough light to see this creature fully.
" yep he is human, a survivor" I said.
" he looks kinda familiar" paisley said.
" kinda but who's knows, let's just get to healing him. Bring any pain killers?"
" yep" she said handing my a bottle.
" good, let's get to work".
She nodded.
It's was kinda hard to help him when he was tied up, but I wasn't taking any chances.
I crushed up some of the plant and mixed it with water, I put the paste on his wrist and some cuts on his head.
He twitched a bit when I was putting it on, it's does sting a little but that only means it's working.
" shhhh.... Calm down we're here to help" I said.
He nodded his head yes, I wasn't sure if he would understand me but I can be assured he does now.
I felt his chest, it was very obvious he had two broken ribs.
I grabbed a water bottle and two pills.
" now I'm going to make you take this it will help stop the pain. I gonna remove the tape from your mouth and when I do just drink the water ok?"
He nodded his head.
" ok" I said slowly removing the tape.
He opened his mouth as I put the pills and water into his mouth.
He swallowed the liquid.
He coughed after, I could only imagine the pain he's going through.
" you ok... Need anything?" I asked.
" m...more water please" he said coughing each word.
" ok" I said pouring more water into his mouth.
" t...thank you" he said being fell back asleep.
His voice sounded very familiar but I couldn't place it.
I pulled the rest of the tape off, so if he needed anything he could call.
I walked towards John he was setting up another trap or something.
" everything good with our friend" John asked.
" yep, I made him take some pain killers. Should help a bit."
" good, in other news we should set up a look out place up in those trees"
" ok, but first I should probably think of a way to fix the broken rib situation"
" good idea, I'll get started here"
I walked back over to "him" and felt his ribs.
Maybe I could place a few sticks along his sides and wrap him up in bandages.
That's what some people did if they had a broken leg back in the old times, plus we don't have much oppositions.
I thought over my plan and decided to go with it, I walked around looking for good sized sticks or branches.
" ha there" I said finding tow good sized branches.
I walked back over to him, he was still asleep.
I grabbed out my pocket knife and started cutting off small twigs and bumpy bark.
" that's good" I said to myself nodding my head.
I place both branches on his sides, I then grabbed out the bandages.
I started wrapping him up, I found it kinda difficult being that he was tied up.
I finally finished up, then walked over to John to help him out.
