Evelyn was peacefully sleeping in her old, uncomfortable bed when she was rudely awakened by one of the caretakers at the orphanage she lived in.

"Get up, it is already 5:30 and it's your day to make breakfast," Eve sighed, realizing that it was Ms. Oxford who was yelling at her, rather than one of the more pleasant and kind caretakers. She knew that if she didn't get up right away she would definitely be punished for it later.

Eve reluctantly heaved herself out of her bed and threw on her ugly school uniform, which consisted of a dull grey skirt that was paired with a dark green top covered with an even duller looking grey blazer. She walked over to the mirror in her room, which was resting on the bookshelf that contained her large selection of books, and brushed through her unruly waist-length jet black hair. She frowned lightly as she realized that it was nearly impossible for her to tame it. It nearly always stuck up obnoxiously in the back, and Eve couldn't hold in her sigh as she ran her hand through her hair one final time. She then proceeded downstairs where she had to make a breakfast for everyone in the orphanage, as it was her job to make their meals every other Friday.

In this orphanage, turning 15 meant responsibilities, and since Evelyn turned 15 exactly 6 months ago on March 27, she had to take part in these responsibilities. The jobs they were given were supposed to be the caretakers jobs, but those old hags would of course give them to the kids with the excuse of "We're trying to help you learn how to take care of yourself and others. You'll thank us for this later on when you're not the ungrateful little devils you are now."

As she prepared some pancakes and bacon, Eve let her thoughts wander as usual. She had been brought here on September 27, 2000, at exactly 6 months old, and had been left on the orphanages front steps. She had been left with a note giving some information about herself and also stating that her parents had died in a car crash. She had no other living relatives, leaving her in this old, rundown building with 30 other girls up to the age of 18.

She was just thankful she (and everyone else who wanted one) got their own room. The orphanage was located in Wolverhampton at an old, abandoned hotel so there were plenty of rooms to go around to the 30 girls. However, Eve was one of the few who chose to have their own room as most wanted to bunk with their friends. But Eve didn't have any of those.

She finished preparing the bacon and pancakes, and soon enough everyone was downstairs eating away. It was always silent during meals as the caretakers would never allow anyone to speak so they could all finish quickly. Of course, Eve never minded this; she wouldn't have talked even if they were allowed to.

Once everyone had finished, they were all sent out to begin their walk to school. Eve walked to her school with the older girls while the younger ones headed down a different road to reach their school. Once they got inside the orphanage girls all ran off together to join their different groups of friends. Well, all of the orphanage girls except for Eve.

She wandered silently through the noisy halls that were full of teenagers anticipating the weekend. Finally, she reached her first class of the day, Maths, and she walked to her seat in the back corner of classroom, right next to the window.

She was sitting there looking out the window when class finally started. She hated having maths first thing in the  morning because it was always took forever to end. Eventually it did, and she made her way to her next class, and then the class after that. It wasn't until she went to lunch that she knew her day would become as bad as every other.

She decided against even going into the cafeteria and instead walked to the bathroom right beside it, hoping to avoid seeing her bullies. However, as soon as she walked into the bathroom, she knew she should've chosen one far from the cafeteria because inside was Wendy and her followers, the girls who never leave Eve alone. Usually people just choose to pretend she isn't there, but not these girls. For some reason, they seem to think bullying Eve is easier than simply pretending she doesn't exist.
