"I don't expect you guys to believe what I'm saying is true, but it is. Everything I'm about to tell you is the truth because I'm done lying and fighting with you three. So, just please think about it a little bit before you decide that I'm not telling the truth. Oh, and you can't tell anyone that I've told you this, not even Dumbledore," Eve paused and looked each of them in the eye before continuing, "And I will erase your memory of this entire conversation if I feel that it's putting you in too much danger."
Sirius, James, and Remus all nodded as their eyes widened, all of them thinking that Eve was probably exaggerating. They hadn't ever thought about it being that big of a secret. Yet, here they were, sitting in a circle on the floor of their dorm, listening to her prepare to tell them her biggest secret.
"So, in the future where I come from, there's these books. There's 7 of them them, and they're in the Harry Potter series." Eve wasn't sure if it was the best idea to tell them they're fictional book characters, but after the last few months she figured they weren't as fictional as she thought.
"Potter?" James blurted out before he could stop himself as Sirius and Remus appeared just as confused. They all knew there was no one in the Potter family named Harry.
Eve eyed him wearily, "Yeah, Potter. These books take place in the 90s, they were written by a Muggle about the second wizarding war."
"There's a second war?" Sirius spoke up with a look of fear written on his face. This war was already becoming bad enough, but now he's finding out they'd have to go through it a second time, which shocked him.
"Yeah. But anyways, these books are about a boy named Harry Potter. This boy is the only one who can defeat Voldemort. The books are just about him going through his years at Hogwarts, trying to win the second war and basically just survive. His life is pretty sucky most of the time, but he has to grow up with that."
"Wait, are you saying that these books show what actually happens? You know how to stop Voldemort?" Remus questioned with a glint of hope shining in his green eyes.
"Yeah, I know how to defeat him because these books show how he's defeated. Unfortunately, it's not until 1998 that he's defeated,"Eve replied uneasily. She hated giving them all of this information, she felt as if she was setting them up for an even earlier death.
"It's only 1975! Why does it take so long?" Sirius asked. Eve cringed.
"Well, he goes away for a little over decade. Many thought he was defeated and gone for good during that time, but he wasn't."
"A decade without Voldemort? That must've been a nice break," James commented with a seemingly happy expression at the thought that there would be a time in his life where he'd at least get a ten year break from Voldemort and his chaos.
Eve gulped, "Um, yeah, for some people."
"What else aren't you tell us, Eve?" Remus questioned as he looked at her suspiciously. He could tell she was nervous about something having to do with Voldemort's ten year absence, and now he wasn't sure he wanted to know why.
"Sorry, I'm trying to think of where to start. Um...well, I guess you could say I knew who you three were before I came here. You were all big parts of the books," she stuttered, carefully thinking of how to word what she was saying.
"I thought the books were about a kid named Harry Potter?" Sirius questioned as James continued to stay silent, thinking hard.
"Yeah, they were. But Harry is James' son," she blurted quickly as Remus and Sirius gasped almost comically and in sync as James' eyebrows furrowed.
"James finally gets some!" Sirius shouted, diffusing the tension that had built in the room since Eve had blurted her last sentence.
Everyone except for James laughs. He still appeared to be deep in thought, and suddenly he spoke up, "I've heard Evans- I mean Lily mention that if she has a son she'll name him Harry, after her grandfather. Does that mean..." He trailed off.
