"We should call her Flappy...or chirpy!" Peter exclaimed. The other four people in the conversation gave each other looks before bursting into laughter at the chubby boy's awful suggestions.
"Um, Wormtail, Ravens are actually commonly seen as an omen of death. It probably shouldn't be so happy," Eve laughed once again along with James, Sirius, and Remus at Peter's suggestions. The five of them were sitting in the Great Hall enjoying dinner and the fact that it was Friday and another week of school was over with.
But for Eve, she had just finished her first week of school at Hogwarts. Nothing too eventful happened during the week, just her trying to learn 5th year things as well as try to catch up. With all of her other homework and occasional letters to her parents, Eve didn't have as much time for tutoring and was only around the level of a student halfway through their third year, but nevertheless she was pleased with her progress. She was also thankful that she knew her way around the school much better now. But the biggest thing about this past week for Eve was discovering what it was like to finally have friends, to finally have people to love and people to love you.
As for the marauders, they were still suspicious about why Eve had previously lied. They waited all week for an opportunity to ask her, and decided they would that night when they were in the Room of Requirements. They just wanted to make sure they did it in a way that wouldn't make Eve think they didn't trust her.
"You know, Ravens have talons since they're birds. What if we called her Tally? Or even Raven itself?" Remus suggested, they had already gone through many others and these two suggestions were the best so far.
"Ok, well, which should it be: Raven or Tally?" James questioned as the four boys all looked at her, trying to decide which nickname would suit her best, causing her to go slightly red under their gazes.
"I say we go with Raven. I mean, her hair is so dark it almost has a purplish tint to it, like a raven's feathers. If anyone questions it we can just tell them it's because of her hair. It's not as creative as we usually are, but I think it works here," Sirius told the group. They all smiled and agreed before leaving the Great Hall.
So Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, Prongs, and Raven all left the hall and made their way through the large castle. They made their way up to the Room of Requirements and began talking and laughing as usual.
"So Raven," James began, enunciating the word Raven as it was the first time any of them had ever used it, "Are you sure you know absolutely nothing about the wizarding world from the future? Like you don't know how we defeat Voldemort, or if we ever do?"
Eve paled at the question, wondering why James was suddenly curious, "Um, no, I was just a muggle. I wasn't apart of the wizarding world, I don't know what it was like," and although Eve's answer was technically the truth, it wasn't completely honest either. The boys looked to each other and noticed how Eve appeared uncomfortable so they decided not to ask anything else for now. So much for getting anything out of her tonight.
After a couple hours of talking and messing around, Eve and the boys decided to head back to the common room. As they were walking back Eve noticed Remus appeared a bit sick and was lagging behind the others, so she decided to hang back with him.
Eve smiled, "Are you doing okay, Remus?" Remus jumped upon hearing her voice, he must not have noticed her walk next to him.
"Oh, yeah, I'm fine, probably just catching a cold or something," Remus appeared as uncomfortable as Eve did earlier and it was then that she realized that the full moon was coming up soon. She wished that she could go and help him, but she knew he definitely didn't trust her enough to tell her his biggest secret yet.
