Like caterpillars we learn to crawl
And only some survive
Some born with the gift for all
They grow wings and learn to fly
Some of us cocoon ourselves
Far from all the light
But we grow and develop
Into the butterflies
The butterflies can soar above
Take off with their wings
While caterpillars crawl below
Not knowing what's missing
When we can soar we learn to love
And care for the young ones
From there we can just fly above
Or stay to help someone
We can lift them up with our wings
And carry them to home
We can help them to start soaring
To start flying with us
Or maybe help the injured, hurt,
Rejected, or despairing
We lift them up till they don't hurt
Fix them, their wings repairing
And when our purpose is fulfilled
We fly back down to Earth
And join the caterpillars
In a cycle of rebirth
