I do not own ROTG.

I woke up to that most evil of all sounds. My alarm clock! I swear, whoever came up with the alarm clock should have been shot at dawn. See how he likes being woken up early.

I quickly got ready for school, remembering just in time my art project. We were working on self-image and we were destroying photos of ourselves. I had done a collage of the different ways to destroy this thing. All mine had been burnt, shot, painted over, had the eyes scratched out, one even looked like Alice from the video game Alice: Madness Returns in hysteria mode. (If you don't know what that is, look it up. The game movie is amazing). I was rather proud of it.

I rushed out my room and down the stairs, dressed in my school shirt, blazer, tie, plead skirt (Help me!) and black shoes. I grabbed my coat, and my school beanie (Gryffindor colours) and 4th Doctor scarf. As I headed out the door I saw my Dad and Joy having morning coffee at the kitchen table. I said a quick "Buy" and I was out of there.

Outside, thick layers of white carpeted the ground. I smiled in the weak sunlight. I knew who had done this. I knew the spirit boy capable of creating this wonderful, magical frozen water otherwise known as snow. It was a great feeling!

As I walked on, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. Like the wind had suddenly changed direction. But I payed it no attention. It was probably down to me being tired or my new awareness that spirits walked among us.

When I got to school everything seemed set for another normal day, but fate obviously doesn't like me.

As I neared the entrance of the school, my path was blocked by a bunch of Neanderthals. These were the pratty boys who were ultra-popular for no real reason other than their parents had money and were passingly cute and good at sports. In other words, stupid A-holes who believed everyone should adore them as much as they adored themselves. (Come on, we all know at least one). And unfortunately for me, they all thought it great fun to torture me and make my life hell, because I was different and smarter than most of the Pop Princess Clones put together.

Their leader was a King among-st Morons, a real Anderson if ever there was one (If you got that reference then I solute you). Brendan White. He had pale blond hair, dark evil looking eyes and was head of the football team (and when I say 'football' I mean English not American). His Dad was one of the major employers in the area and one of the richest men in England, possibly the world. Any other girl would be head-over-heals for him and he knew this only too well, but I just found him annoying and boring. There was nothing going on in his head. If you shouted in one ear you could hear the echo out the other side. Trouble Kelp as a human (if you got that reference, I will give you a hug).

"Hay Nat." He said in his smarmy way.

I scowled. I hate it when people call me 'Nat'. My name is Natalia, not Nat, not Natty. Not Nattily. Certainly not Nutella. N. A. T. A. L. I. A!

I didn't bother explaining that. I had done so several times. He knew I didn't like it and was just trying to push my buttons, and he was an expert at that.

I tried walking past, but he moved in front of me.

"Hay Nat, go out with me." He demanded more then asked.

I could tell from the smirk on his face he thought this was the best offer ever for a girl. Like I should be honored.

I smiled sweetly at him, causing him to step back sharply. Bad things happened when I smile at people I don't like. It meant something unpredictable was about to happen. One time I smiled at a boy who had just called me a 'nutter' and he was nearly struck by lightning. I don't think that was my fault, but it kept the idiots back for a while, so you know, silver lining.

"Of cause I'll go out with you," I said in a mock of the other girls I had seen. Then my face grew slack. "A week from when hell freezes over."

Something happened then. The ground below Brendan turned to ice and he slipped. All his cronies quickly followed suit. I looked up, but there was nothing there. Just a flutter of snowflakes. So I was being followed. I had a wintry stalker.

I shrugged, well at least these idiots would leave me alone for a few weeks.

I carefully moved around the ice, where the morons still slipped all over the place and got into the school.
