I listened to the sound of the busy streets from below the condo building as I felt fur moving along my thighs and arms. Beep Beep Beep Beep!! The sound of my alarm clock going off made my quick reflex slam my hand down on it to turn it off. I slowly risen upward looking down on my lap to see Scott laying around on my thighs purring while standing up observing me as I rubbed and scratched at his head and back.
Five minutes after ten I started on breakfast and noticed note attached to the fridge from her as I snatched it beginning to read out loud.
"Dear Clarence, I went out clothes shopping some more for the new baby down in San Francisco i know that's a bit far from San Diego but I promise that I will be home for dinner tonight Love Na'tasha".
My heart filled with sadness then with excitement finding some chocolate attached to the back of the note.
Nine thirty sneaked around with no sign of her as Scott hissed at me and then hissed at the TV which made me pay attention and turn up the volume that's when I wanted to throw the TV out the window.
"This just in government officials have advised all residents in the southwest area is San Francisco due to a severe earthquake heading towards to downtown San Francisco area local homes and industries are advised to to take shelter and refuge to all areas beyond or further than San Francisco I'm Robert Sanders local chan-"
I rushed to find my phone yelling at Scott while turning off the TV.
"Dammit Scott where's my fucking phone-?!!" I noticed it sticking out of my coat pocket across the room as I sprang into action at it to excited and nervous to even get a good grip on it. As I finally called her tapping my fingers on the wall then froze when I heard her voice.
"Hey baby what's wrong why are you out of breath?!!"
"Sweetheart listen to me OK get the hell out of San Francisco right now do u hear me come home a earthquake is heading your way hello do u hear me...?" i yelled at her with my heart racing
Meanwhile on her end of the phone she notices a heavy vibration between her and the ground. Then as she goes to further investigate she notices and hears the sound of the Kirby Enterprise's building slowly but loudly falling right past her with the sounds of frightened screams.
"Na'tasha best friend can you hear me?!?", "We have to go right now come on now!!" said Emily while rushing Na'Tasha to safety.
"Honey are you still there hello I can't understand you your breaking up?!" The line just gives back static then disconnects.
I turned to Scott as he meowed in a sadness type of voice covering his face with his paws.
