We finally arrived at the outside gates of the Black Hills Forest heading for Rapid City. I tried to keep my eyes on nothing but the road but I kept receiving that most frightening feeling I was being watched as I peeked in the rear view mirror to seeing Roland staring at me as if there was a all you can eat buffet sitting in front of him.

We kept staring at each other until I finally spoke after clearing my throat, causing Destiny to wake up from her sleep.

"So Roland, if I can ask besides New York being the place where all survivors are being held, is there any other special or specific reason your heading for New York?" I said while slowing down the car.

He pulled out a pocket knife and sharpener and began to sharpen the knife while clearing his throat, which made Destiny gulp and feel very self centered as she grabbed my thigh gently.

"Since you didn't understand me when I said no more questions Clarence I'll tell you, you see I know why the earth is acting the way it is hell there are things I know will happen that everyone should be aware of, so to answer your question the real reason why I am going to New York is because there is a research lab there waiting for me but I've already said too much, now the next time I get asked a question someone I don't know who but someone will not make it to New York in one piece do I make myself clear Clarence?" he said while pointing the knife at the back of my head.

I began to stay quiet secretly eyeing Destiny for confirmation of what he just said but she gave me the most terrified look while shaking her head yes extremely slowly.

"Roland you've made yourself crystal clear, but you have to remember that we are the two kind-hearted people who chose to help you out and take you with us, so don't be a real ass hole when we ask questions taking it that we barely know you so relax sit back and enjoy the ride" I said while removing Destiny's hand from my thigh.

We finally reached a gas station stop as Roland rushes out of the car before it even gets to a halt.
Destiny and I looked on until he finally got a distance away from the car as Destiny quickly turned her attention to me.
"Is it me or does he know something he doesn't want us to know?" she said with a extreme curiosity in her tone.

"It's very obvious that he knows more than we do about the earths health, but us begging him to tell us isn't going to get us nowhere do you have any suggestions as to how we should get him to tell us?" I said in a whispering tone.

"Well we could just have a old fashioned integration and kidnap him until he tells us right?" she asked me while eating quite possibly the last Snickers on earth.

"No no are you crazy kidnapping him?" "Come on we're going to need a better plan than that and you know it so stop talking crazy and start talking ideas" I said while reclining my seat at a 95 degree angle.

"Well what about-" she paused at her sentence realizing Roland is making his way back to the car as we both went to a mute.

He got into the car leaving the door open examining us both in suspicion as he them slammed the door shut making Destiny flinch.

"What we you two talking about just now?" he said while buckling  in his seatbelt vigorously.

Destiny and I looked on at each other waiting to see who's going to speak as we stuttered then mouthed out words to one another leading to Destiny punching my shoulder as she began to speak.

"If you must know we were discussing since the world is ending what Clarence and I should do for his birthday in four days something you don't need worry about" she said while drawing a sketch of a butterfly.

All Roland did was stare Destiny down them slowly turned his attention to me, so I tried to avoid having to give him direct eye contact by starting the car then began to examine our map.
I could feel him staring me down with extreme caution then laid back into his seat covering his eyes after yawning.

"I can see we all have a bit of a trust issue, but it doesn't matter just wake me when we reach our next stop" he said while soon falling into a deep sleep.
