Chapter 14: The Crumbling City

We all drive right into Harlem New York just watching the jaw dropping scenes, as I froze then jumped out of the car while it was still in motion.

Roland immediately stopped the car getting out being followed by Destiny and Nicole.

"Clarence, Clarence wait what are u doing well don't even know if it's safe here anymore!?!" he shouted at me while following me.

I kept running and running straight ahead keeping my eyes on a familiar object sticking out of the ground.

I ran and then decreased my speed not believing my eyes as Roland, Destiny, and Nicole stood in disbelief.

"Am I the only one seeing the torch of the statue of liberty sticking out of the ground...right?" she asked with curiosity in her tone.

I looked at the torch carefully then looked down the street and ran off again with everyone else close behind me.

I ran down into a subway station into the control room.

"Eww what smells like shit down here?" said Destiny as Roland covered her mouth while eyeing Nicole.

"Hey um Clarence mind telling us why we're down here it's really not a safe place to be right with a two year and a half year old girl?" he asked while walking with me at my side.

"Well you see I was along with you was in the service, but what you may not know is that well in pretty much every state there is a underground military base and we just so happen to be in the most popular States in the country with one of the biggest bases around" I said while flipping ten switches revealing a huge metal gate door that revealed to us a entire hangar full of weapons and food in crates.

Destiny as well as Nicole searched the boxes as Destiny screamed as if she got spooked as well all rushed to her.

"Oh my god Destiny what's wrong, are you hurt!?!" we asked while searching her body as she swatted away at our hands.

"I'm fine just look what I found though" she said as we all leaned into her box.

All we could see was ever flavor of oreos even my personal favorite red velvet oreos.

"I mean like what luck is this blessing this this is better than weed am I right Clar- hey what are u doing put those oreos back in there they're mines all mines!!" she shouted at me as I slowly put the oreos back in the crate while pouting a bit.

I searched the other boxes then found what looks like cars under some tarps as me and Roland eyed each other with the same idea as we remove the tarps revealing exotics sports cars.

I turned on more lights revealing a entire locker room filled with crates of guns and ammo.

"Hey Roland come in here you might like to see this!" I shouted for him as he rushed to me then dropped on his knees and began to pray.

"Dear God it's me your favorite son Roland J. Currie, I would just like to say if I may and if your even still up there that well thank you for this blessing because your the only other man who appreciates guns like I do so thank you just thank you Amen" he said before rushing to the crates trying out a assault rifle.

"This is the second most happiest day of my life!!" he shouted as it echoed throughout the base hangar.

I searched further and further into the hangar as I found what I think is the technology area as I grabbed three cameras filling up my bag with them and storage batteries along with some solar flashlights.

Then I found some old uniforms as I decided to change into one, leaving that locker room searching for the others but I don't see one sign of them but I can't stop hear them from above.

I came to the entrance of the subway tunnel as I see the truck we arrives in and two sports cars from the tunnel packed up to the max.

"Hey Clarence we've been preventing you from seeing your wife for the past three years, but not this time where do you want to go next and plus I found another radio with a speaker to find your wife or whatever?"

I smiled at them all thinking about my answer to that question before speaking remembering the last place Na'tasha told me she was heading for.

"We're going to Miami Florida" I said getting into the first sports car speeding off with Roland following right behind me in the second car with Destiny and Nicole behind him in the truck.
