"Ugh I'm so bored, are we any closer to New York or not Clarence?!"she yelled at me while taking off her headphones.
"Please answer my question because pretty soon I'm going to roll down my window and crawl out while your driving" she said while shrugging my shoulders for me to pay attention and answer her question. As i stopped the car releasing my shoulder from her almost godlike grip.
"Why are you so impatient, jeez your acting like a spoiled child" i said while releasing my shoulder of her intense grip.
Her entire face lit up and turned bright red filled with anger and rage.
"Don't you talk to me like your my dad ever again in your life Clarence!!" she yelled with nothing but rage in her voice.
"I am impatient because well your not speaking to me we are supposed to get along with each other and your not being helpful at all, all I want for you to do is just talk to me it can be about whatever pops into your head whether it's good or bad just stop sitting there being like a ghost OK?" she asked me turning my head to her for eye contact making me stop the car.
"Alright fine I think I can do that" I said while continuing to drive up the interstate.
Umm ah OK when and if the Earth doesn't well you know blow up and end human life, what do u plan on doing for the rest of your life if I can ask that Destiny?" I said while watching her our of the corner of my eyes.
"Hmm now that question is both a very good reasonable and interesting question Clarence" she said while sitting upside down in the passenger seat thinking the question over and over until she finally flipped herself right side up in her seat before speaking.
"If the planet doesn't blow up or end all life on Earth I think I would-" I covered her mouth before she could finish her sentence.
"Hold that thought please" I said while pointing at a man in the distance sitting on the side of the road in the hot sun.
I continued to look on at him, as I yelled in pain from being bitten by Destiny on my hand so I gave her the most evil look I could.
"We're not going to give that man a ride and let him travel with us are we Clarence?" she asked with caution in her tone.
Well why shouldn't we, I mean he's probably been sitting out here in the sum for God knows how long, we can just be cautious yet while kind while helping him out and maybe we can even take him with us to New York if that's where he's headed right?".
"Relax I know what I am doing trust me" I said while slowing the car down then eventually stopping the car by him rolling my window down.
Before I could even get a word out Destiny pushed my chest back into my seat pointing a shot gun at the mystery man's face.
"Who are you?!" "Why are you just sitting out here in the middle of nowhere in the hot sun?!" she yelled as I rolled up my window back saying "Please excuse me my friend just one second".
"What the hell is your problem did you not hear anything I just told you!?!" I yelled at her waiting for her to answer me.
"What are you talking about Clarence, you said to be cautious?" she said with curiosity and interest.
"Yes I did say that but being cautious doesn't mean you force someone to stare down down he barrel of a gun, you know what give me the god damn gun and I don't want to see any type of gun in your hands until we get all the way to Indiana now give it!!" I said while holding my hand out for the gun as she thinks if something to say to me but fails while handing over the gun.
All I could do at this point was just stare at her with a mix of confusion and frustration on my face.
I started to collect my thoughts, then rolled the window down again.
"I am truly sorry about that I really am but anyways do u need a ride anywhere heading in the direction of New York?" "Because if so I can be more than happy to accommodate you and offer you a ride" I said while getting out of the car for a better observation of the man.
He just looked at me for a few moments then finally rose to his feet wearing a American Marine Sargent uniform as I tried to get a closer look, looking for his name tag but his bag strap had it hidden.
I then noticed a unfamiliar assault rifle one a strap of his bag hanging on his back.
He finally began to speak in the most manly voice I've ever heard in my entire life.
"Yes I am headed in the direction of New York in fact that's exactly where I am headed thank you for offering me a ride I really appreciate it" he said while grabbing the rest of his things as I went to the back of the car opening the trunk looking at Destiny through the side view mirror giving her the same look she's giving me with caution and mysteriousness.
I watched him pack his things into the trunk of the car then closed it heading for the drivers side of the car.
I got into the car watching Destiny who's watching the mystery man.
"Destiny don't be rude just staring at the man, instead why don't you introduce yourself to him?" I said while snapping my fingers at her four times.
"Ugh fine whatever, hello sir my name is Destiny I am a current friend of Clarence's, who unlike me didn't introduce myself, you may be who exactly what's your name?" she said while looking at me for confirmation.
The man did not say a word at first only stared at the both of us through his shades for a few seconds then decided to speak.
"I go by many names all to many to remember but for you two, all you should remember is Roland no more questions please if that's alright with the two of you let's just get to where we need to be" he said which made Destiny go slightly insane as she tried to attempt to break bullets with her teeth.
"Boy I can I tell this is going to be a long long pain in the ass kind of road trip " I said while while sighing then chuckling as i restarted the car driving further down the road passing the Black Hills National Forest.
