‘Hello?’
I woke up to hear Jayy sleepily answering the phone.
‘She’s sleeping you man-whore.’ His voice suddenly became sharp and cross, and I could only guess who he was talking to.
‘No, I am not going to wake her up just so you can talk to her.’ I opened my eyes to see Jayy sitting up fully, his expression one of anger. He spotted I was awake, and his face softened. I heard voices on the phone, and then Jayy’s face suddenly became full of anger again.
‘Bye.’ He cut off the phone and placed it down, before turning his gaze back to me. James was fast asleep next to us, curled up on his side, his back facing us.
‘It was Ashley, wasn’t it?’ I mumbled.
Jayy nodded. ‘And, there was someone with him.’
Tears – angry, hot, painful tears – sprung to my eyes. ‘Kina.’
‘I’m sorry sweetie.’ Jayy pulled me into his chest, his arms cradling me tightly, before lying back on the bed, clutching me close to him.
‘I can live a better life, without you on my mind. Don’t you need to decide, without I’ll be fine.’ He gently began to lull.
I hid my face in his chest, beginning to cry again.
‘I should of known something this perfect would have been so damn destructive. I an live a better life without you on my mind.’ He continued to sing softly, stroking my hair.
He kept singing to me, until I fell asleep once again.
When I woke up again, it was lunch time. I pulled myself from Jayy’s warm bed where I had cocooned myself in the sheets, and made my way back downstairs.
As I entered the kitchen, I saw Jayy look up from the cooker.
‘Heya sunshine.’ He smiled as I sat down.
‘Hey Jayy.’ I muttered.
I heard his give a sad sigh, and then a plate of pancakes were placed in front of me.
‘Cheer up sweetie.’ He gently chucked my cheek
I gave him a half-smile and began to eat.
‘I think a shopping trip would be good for you today.’ Said Jayy.
I gave a small nod, a proper smile adorning my lips. Jayy always knew how to cheer me up.
‘Big Brother, you don’t have to buy me everything you see!’ I laughed.
‘But I want to!’ Jayy pouted.
‘You are going to get arm ache if you buy anything else!’
‘Are you kidding me? I’ve been on bigger shopping spree’s with Dahvie.’
I rolled my eyes, realizing I wasn’t going to be able to stop Jayy.
‘Hey Roxie!’ I looked round and grinned.
‘J!’
‘I’m right here Roxie, what?’ asked Jayy.
‘No, J!’ I wiggled from Jayy’s shoulders and over to the man, who grinned at me from under his black bangs.
‘Y’know, you look better when they’re out your face.’ I reached up and pushed them from his eyes so I could see into the emerald green orbs.
‘I’ll remember that Roxie.’ J laughed.
He was wearing black, ripped skinny jeans today, and a Motionless In White shirt.
‘So how you been? I’ve not seen you in ages – I would of hoped you might have popped by the shop a few times.’ J said.
