Chapter 12: Saving Kasey [part2]

Maria P.O.V

I woke up with a bad headache. I looked around the room I was in. Where in the hell am I? Just then the door opened and one of the guys from the break in walked up to me.

"So your'e finally awake." He said. I didn't know what to do so I nodded. He surprised me by slapping me. I held my cheeck as he laughed.

"You're most likely wondering why you're here. Well its about what happened to your parents."

Celeste P.O.V

I wasn't aware of what happened. I remember us running through the halls and then- nothing. I sat up holding my head, trying to adjust to the dark room.

"Hello?" I ask, more to see if I was alone than to spark up a conversation.

Nothing.

I guess I'm alone. I hope Maria is okay, I don't know what I'd do if I lost her. I sigh and lean back against the wall. I guess I wait.

I hadn't been there long before two guards showed up and dragged me into a room. From where I was I could see Markie, Demetri, Michael, and a shit load of other people watching us. Wait- why is Michael here? Where's Maria? Suddenly a door opened.

I couldn't believe my eyes.

Maria P.O.V

"What do you mean?" I ask. He slapped me, hard on my already throbbing cheeck.

"I ask the questions not you. Now get up, its time."

He grabbed me in a steel bending grip when I didn't move and dragged me through a series of doors and halls. Finally, we reached a set of double doors.

I couldn't hear anything through them.

All I can say is, as soon as I saw who was on the other side of the door, I wished I was back in that room getting slapped.

I hadn't even taken two steps before I was shoved onto a platform, where I was then chained down.

"Maria Carmelli, you are brought before the council of vampires to pay for the following crimes:..." I couldn't understand what was happening, I had never killed anyone. It wasn't until the man said my parents that I suddenly felt faint.

I couldn't see straight anymore. The air was thin and I was falling. Out of no where, I was being thrown through time, back to the day I found my parents dead. This couldn't be right, why would I ever hurt them? I could see me and other children running around playing tag, my mother called us to stop running in the house. No.

I refuse to believe it.

In an instance I was back to the reality I faced.

"No." I said. Everyone drew in a breath.

"Pardon?" The man said.

"I said no." I looked up at him. "I didn't kill those people. You have the wrong person."

"Well, if you didn't kill them then who did?" He said, none to kindly.

"I don't know, that's your job not mine."

"I did it!" Celeste screamed. I stared at him wide-eyed. I couldn't let him take the blame.

"No!"

He smirked at me. "Well then I guess your little boyfriend here will die for you."

" Confía en mí. Obtener y esconderse con nuestros hijos. Te quiero. No te olvides de mí." (Trust me. Get away and hide with our children. I love you. Don't forget me.)

"NO!" I screamed too late. They killed him. I was unchained, I ran to him.

"No, no, no." I said. I couldn't hold back my tears.

"Miss. We should go." Kasey said quietly.

I looked up at her.

"This is all your fault!" I screeched. "If it weren't for you then he'd be alive!" I was furious, if she hadn't have gotten caught then they wouldn't have had to come get him.

I don't know what I did, all I remember is hearing her scream.
