Chapter 22 - Before the end

Jack POV-

Ianto's fever began to get worse, making me panic more and more, Ianto's fragile body laying on my chest, I kissed the top of his head while rocking Ianto back and forward. His breathing was irregular which sent chills down my spine, I couldn't allow him to die, not after everything he has been through! "Jack, I know the likelihood of me surviving is - is very thin so I - I need to tell you ... I love you" Ianto's voice was shaky and his eyes had a glassy layer where tears were beginning to form.

As the night progressed I felt Ianto's life slowly slipping away, piece by piece, his skin was pale, his lips were blue and his eyes was shut, the only sign of life was the slight rise and fall of his chest, I kept my eyes on his chest waiting for it to stop moving, waiting for the one person who i have ... who i will ever love die in my arms.

John walked into the room dragging us back into the freezer, I watched helplessly as Ianto was thrown onto the floor "Please just stop" i screamed as i was handcuffed onto a nearby pipe, Ianto had the same done to him but on the pipe opposite. We stayed in the freezer from around two hours, Ianto became more weak every minute we was in there, by the time we were released Ianto was on the edge of life.

Tosh POV -

I spent all the time i had searching for Ianto, he went missing and I couldn't help but think it was my fault, I should have stopped Gwen and Owen, i was too scared, it was over so quickly and i felt like was in shock. I found CCTV footage of Ianto entering a building, but there was some interference meaning i was not able to tell if he ever left, I ran over to the building searching for any sign of Ianto, before I entered the building I saw something lying against the floor. I approached the object and a smile came over my face ... Jack's vote manipulator, he must be with Ianto, and almost straight away I felt feared rise inside of me, something serious must have happened for Jack to leave behind his vortex manipulator!

I ran to the hub and transferred all the information onto my computer, i searched where the last place Jack was "Bingo" I whispered to myself, a warehouse just outside of Cardiff was displayed all over the computer screen, I grabbed my coat ad ran to the SUV. When I approached the warehouse I automatically noticed the large amount of guards patrolling the area, I used some alien tech Owen picked up last year showing every life form in a 10 mile range, when I saw the coast was clear I ran towards the door.

I snuck into the warehouse and slowly made my way to the only room which had the door closed, when I reached it I saw Jack rocking Ianto in his arms with tears running down his face, I began to hit the padlock which was on the door and to my luck it broke off. I pushed the door open and Jack's eyes lit up with joy, "Tosh?" I nodded and ran over to him, hugging him with all my strength, I looked down at Ianto and he looked terrible, I helped Jack up and we both carried Ianto out of the cold room.

As we left the warehouse and started to make it to the SUV, we placed Ianto into the back of the SUV and Jack jumped into the back with him, I heard a gunshot and felt a pain rush through my arm, I pulled out my gun and released as many bullets as possible in the direction of John, he felt to the floor surrounded by a pool of blood. I started the car and began to drive away.

ONE MONTH LATER

Everyone began to live life normally, Jack and Ianto was both traumatised but they didn't care because they had each other, my arm will be in a sling for two more weeks but other then that I was okay, Jack suspended Gwen and Owen for the next two months, it was quite without having them around but it was necessary. John was dead, well thats what Jack told me, he went back to check after we got Ianto admitted to the closest hospital, we were all alive and all okay.

I might write a sequel depending on what everyone thinks, please leave a comment if you would like one, if there is two or more people who want i sequel i'll try and start one. And thank you berlin-london for the idea of Tosh saving them!
