Walking into the palace brings back memories of being at home. I don't mean my home here in Kings, I mean back home with my parents. My parents are wealthy and I was fortunate enough to grow up in a large house full of expensive furniture. Everywhere you looked there was crystal. My mum loved it, we had crystal tables, ornaments, glasses and a ridiculous amount of chandeliers. I'm not complaining I loved that house and it was great being a lone child of rich parents. I know my house here is everything that I've always wanted but I can't help but feel familiarity in a palace full of crystal or in this case, a palace made out of crystal. I look in awe as the entrance to the palace glistens, the stair case in front of me twinkles as the sunlight hits it. The ceiling is tall forming into a fine point, oval windows are carved into the crystal radiating light into the palace that spirals down illuminating the entrance and the stairs.

"This place is still looking fancy my Lord." Heather says running her finger along one of the walls. "Is this actually crystal or is it just made to look like it?" She leans down and lightly bites a ledge holding lit candles, she winces rubbing her tooth. "Ouch, that's certainly real crystal." I shake my head at her.

"Did you really just bite that?" I ask walking over to the candles and inhaling their scent, they're sweet like vanilla. Lord Ashley walks ahead of us leading us through an archway into a large room. Three long blue rugs run in lines along the crystal floor, one along each wall and one in the centre I make sure not to step off the rug I'm standing on. The walls are covered with paintings of different creatures. Some are elves, some are witches, pixies, trolls, something that looks like a mermaid but more vicious and a dragon. Matt walks up behind me I smile at him not sure what to say.

"They're magnificent creatures aren't they? Dragons?" I nod my head admiring the detail in the brushwork. The shading of the scales changing from Browns to yellows to greens, the artist has also painted in scars and scratches as if they were getting inspiration from the real creature. "They're real you know? Well they used to be." I look at him with a look of confusion.

"Dragons don't exist, they're just a myth." Matt shakes his head.

"Not true, they do exist. We have dragons here in our world, we thought they had all been extinct but recently there has been evidence that they're back. If I'm not wrong I do believe that our friend Heather has one hidden in her house." Matt raises his eyebrows at me and nods his head towards Heather.

"Now that's just ridiculous," I say shaking my head in disbelief, "I've just come from Heather's house and there is no way she has a dragon hidden in there. Not a fully grown one anyway." Matt winks at me with a smirk on his face. "What?" I say not able to refrain from smirking back at him.

"What do fairies and witches have that humans don't?" He watches me, is this a trick question?

"Err, powers?" I say shrugging my shoulders, Matt nods his head.

"That's correct. What fuels these powers?" He raises one eyebrow at me making me chuckle lightly.

"I don't know! Why all the questions?" I say looking over at Taylor who is watching us carefully.

"I'm trying to get you to realise that this world of ours is filled and built around magic." He looks at me expectantly.

"Yeah I know but what's your point?" He releases a sigh and takes hold of the tops of my arms.
