Chapter Four

Rachael

I am laying on my bed wondering how life got to be such a mess.  I mean I know I was the one who sacrificed my brother and only family apart from my twin sister Maddie.  I don't need reminding of that, but Blakemore promised me life would be better.  He promised me power and success yet all I've had is slavery and years of being mistreated.  Maybe its a punishment for what I did to my family, a way of getting revenge on me, Rachael Edwards.  A loud knock awakens me from my thoughts.

"come in." I say loudly, the door swings open and I sit up straight.  I stare at blakemore not believing that he is here in my room, he smiles at me before perching at the end of the bed.  "What are you doing here? And who let you in?" I fold my arms across my chest and wait for his response.

" I let myself in as I rule this city and I may enter any building I desire to enter.". He smirks at me making my uncontrollable anger begin to boil.  "Anyway, I am here to inform you of a meeting happening in my house in an hour.  Be there or you will be dragged there by a pack of wolves or maybe some bears I haven't decided yet.". He gives me one more smirk before leaving the room, I throw my pillow at the door making it slam loudly.

"You are the pain of my life! I hate you!". I scream at my now closed door, I have to do something to help this town, and that means starting with him.

I walk up the cold marble steps leading to Blakemores house, they open as I reach the top.  Standing in the doorway is Miranda, she smiles at me with a knowing smirk.  "Where is the annoying bastard then?" I ask giving her a sarcastic smile back.

"Aw come on now Rachael, you need to respect your elders.". I stare at her in dibelief .

"You mean to say that you actually take him seriously? He does nothing for us or this city he is destroying it!" Miranda shuffles on her feet before returning to her original bitchy stance.

"Yes actually I do.  If you don't like it why don't you go running to that twin of yours again.  Oh wait, even she doesn't want you.". My mouth falls open with shock, did she really just say that? I barge past her and make my way into the main hall.  As I enter the room everyone stares at me, I see Blakemore lounging in his chair at the front, he points to the chair next to him.  I shake my head and go to take a seat at the back of the room but I can feel him controlling my legs making me do as he says. I reluctantly sit down and fold my arms in protest.

"Hello favoured one.". I roll my eyes and look in the opposite direction, I hear him chuckle next to me.  The room fills with the very few inhabitants of this crappy town and the doors at the back are shut.  Blakemore stands up and looks at the people in the room.  "How many of you respect me? Be honest, honesty is the best policy after all.". I roll my eyes again and shake my head.  Everyone in the room raises their hand except for Vicky, I nod at her receiving one back.  "Well thank you dear ones, I asked this as miss Edwards behind me no longer respects me and this bothers me.". He glances at me, I'm glad it bothers him, he doesn't have any respect for any of us so why should I respect him?  He points at me.  "She had the audacity to come to me and tell me that she thinks I am ruining this city and that she could do a better job!  She called me lazy and rude, I believe I do a good job, do you? Raise your hands if you agree.". I look at the crowd again and the same amount of people have raised their hands.  I stand up and stare at them in disbelief.

"You are all so full of crap!" I shout making blakemore jump back.  "You're telling me you think he does everything he can for this city but this city is disgusting!  I am not proud to say I live here, if you are then maybe you need to gain some self respect!  You make me sick!". I stomp towards the exit but blakemore stops me, I turn around and glare at him.
