Chapter Eleven

Makenna's POV:

*Three days before Gus' birthday. It is still Spring Break (for his birthday, he may be back in school, but in my book he has break for two weeks)*

"Hello?" I ask as I pick up my phone.

Hailey leans over and turns down the music, her eyes looking at me. I close my book, before I turn my full attention to the phone pressed between my ear and my shoulder.

"Hey!" Rydel chirps.

"Rydel?!" I ask shocked. The girls all look over at me. "How did you get my number?"

"Well," I put my phone on speaker. "I stole your boyfriend's phone and then I proceed to go through his contacts until I found your name. Your name in his phone is so cute!" Rydel gushes.

My face flushes. I remember the day we go together, he changed it from Kenna <3 to a name I never saw myself in anyone's phone. He changed it too Baby Girl. I smile at the girls(Hailey, Jenna, and Jasmin), who make googly eyes at me.

"Anyway. . ." Rydel says as there is yelling in the background. I hear Gus yell and I can't help but smile. "Hold on Ken."

Rydel must have put the phone on mute because I couldn't hear anything that was going on. I sigh as I tap my fingers on the book in my lap. After a moment, the sound is turned back on. Rydel sighs loudly as a boy clears his throat.

"Sorry about that. The boys have had a bit of sugar put in them, by yours truly," Riker says with a laugh.

I laugh, when I see Jasmin tense up, "I see. As you were saying Dels."

"Anyway, Riker and I were talking earlier this morning about Gus' birthday. Well, he's been complaining about the fact that you won't be here to see him. He hates the feeling of you not being with him. He hates how he won't be able to spend his birthday with his favorite girl. He hates that you wouldn't be there to give him a kiss. And a lot of other cute things." Rydel rambles about. I blush. "When Riker and I were talking, I suggested that we should fly you out here to see Gus."

"What?! Oh my god! Are you serious?!" I squeal as the girls start to squeal.

Rydel and Riker both start to laugh, our squealing clearly amusing them. After a few moments, we stop to catch our breath.

"Yes. We are serious. We're buying at least six tickets. So, you can bring anyone you want. Who do you wanna bring?"

"Elana is at her grandma's, so I don't wanna bother her. So, it will be Jenna, Jessa, Becca, Jasmin, Hailey, and myself. That's all. Unless Becca or someone is busy. When are we leaving?"

"Riker and I bought the tickets for tomorrow. We talked to your mothers already and they agreed that you guys could fly here in first class and we'll supirse Gus in his birthday. Gordy will love to see Jenna. I'm so excited!! We'll see you girls tomorrow." Rydel says.

"Bye Rydel!" I say as I hang up.

"Oh my gosh! I'll get to meet Riker!" Jasmin says as she starts to jump up and down.

I can't help but smile and let my eyes water up. After a second, I feel a wet tear falling down my face. I start to laugh as I wipe the tears away. The girls all huddle around me, pulling me into a group hug.

Later after the girls left, I start to pack my bags for Colorado. The family had flown back there to see the B family. I couldn't wait to go see Gus and supirse him for his birthday. It would make his day, week, or even year. I can't help but smile as I come across the sweatshirt he gave me before he left.
