Makenna's POV:

**Two weeks later**

"I'm so excited for homecoming!" Elana squeals to Jenna, Jessa, Jasmin and I.

"Me too! I really hope Gil asks me if I can be fully honest," Jasmin says with a blush creeping on her cheeks.

"Awe, isn't that cute? I ship them together so hard," Jenna says before Jasmin hits her arm.

"Who doesn't ship them? Don't even think about hitting me because I will end up hitting you back five times harder," I warn Jasmin.

Jasmin lowers her already raised fist. She could tell that I was serious. I don't usually make jokes about hitting someone back harder than they just hit me unless I am serious.

After a few seconds, Jenna walks next to me. She doesn't say anything as she waits for the others to slowly catch up to us. When they do, Jasmin comes closer to Jenna and I. They both lean in as if they are waiting for me to say something. I look from Jasmin to Jenna.

"Can I help you guys?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"It's about homecoming," Jasmin says.

"I'm not going. Nothing really important about it," I respond.

"What?!" The others say at the same time.

"Not even if Gus asks you?!" Jenna asks shocked.

"I will go then. Other than that, I don't really want to go alone." I say as Gordy runs up to the front of the group.

"What are we talking about guys?" He asks laughing as Trinity comes towards us.

"Nothing," Jenna says quickly lying and changing the subject to something other than homecoming.

"Whatever you guys were talking about, it must have been something to do with Gus. That's what the last few weeks have been about. The whole school has been buzzing about Gus and Makenna breaking up and then not even a day later, getting back together. It's so odd hearing stuff about the whole thing from my friends and some of Gus' friends. They all act as if they know the story, but they honestly don't." Trinity says as other footsteps approach us.

"Yeah, it should die down soon than later," Gil says as he joins the group by standing by Jasmin.

I can't help but notice how close the tow of them seem. I'm not sure if it's just my eyes playing a trick on me, or if it's the fact that they may actually be close together. I watch them for a second, making a small blush appear on both Gil's and Jasmin's face. I smile and I nearly jump when I feel an arm wrap itself around my shoulders. I look and see Gus smiling down at me.

"I'm glad that when you scare me, it amuses you," I say with a small laugh.

He chuckles, but doesn't respond as we keep walking towards my house and the De St Jeor household. His hand slowly finds mine and a smile forms on my lips.

"Dude, I'm so excited for Homecoming!" Gil says making Jasmin's breath catch in her throat.

"The game? Or the dance?" Jenna asks cautiously.

"Both honestly, but I don't have a date to homecoming and I'm hoping to change that," Gil responds, not removing his eyes from his feet.

"Eh, I'm not excited for homecoming." Gus speaks up after Gil finishes.

I feel a gasp arise in my throat. The others gasp, but they aren't as shocked as me. I know Gus. He's a sucker for romance. He would never turn up a dance or anything.
