I ran across the ball room. I didn't care who I ran into because I had to find Lucy. If I was to be married I had to let her know how I feel.

I looked up and saw Natsu barreling towards me. When I noticed his scared expression, I stood up and met him half way.

"What's wrong?! Are you okay?!" I asked him worriedly. He fell into a hug. I could feel his shaky breath against my neck. I rubbed his back in an effort to comfort him.

"Let's get out of here. It feels like the damn walls are closing in," Natsu said. He stood up, took my hand in his, and we walked towards the door. I was confused. I stopped and pulled him back.

"Wait-- why? Aren't you having fun?" I asked. He was breathing heavily.

"I'll explain it all in the car, for right now we gotta go!" he said angrily. He began to pull me to the door again. I trusted him so I didn't question him again.

We got our to the car and Natsu slammed the door. He pulled away from the house and started driving towards mine. He acts this way whenever he's upset with his father. He'd stay the night at my house a few nights and be back with his dad afterwards.

"You okay?" I asked. He seemed kind of nervous. He was blushing. Maybe that was just anger.

She was staring at me with her gorgeous brown eyes. I didn't know how to tell her. It was frustrating me, and embarrassing me at the same time. I could feel my cheeks flush. Instead of heading straight to her house, I pulled over to the side of the road.

"W-what are you doing?" she asked. I sighed, leaned back on my seat, and closed my eyes. I wish time would have frozen for me right then and there.

"I have to tell you something... Something I've been keeping from you for a long time," I said. I unbuckled my seatbelt, turned to to face her, and got really close. That sudden unexplainable urge came over me again. She got on close as well, then hugged me.

"You know you can tell me anything," she whispered. I hugged her back. She started to pull away.

"Wait!" I said, pulling her back in. I could feel my eyes tearing up for no apparent reason. She noticed and got even closer, and hugged even tighter. She ran her fingers through my hair. I slowly pulled back halfway, so our faces were still close.

"It's okay, you can tell me," she whispered again. I nodded.

"The reason I left the party is because... I... I'm supposed to be... Married to Lisanna..." I said. Her jaw dropped.

I pulled away, with my hand over my mouth, and leaned back against my seat. He was going to be married... To Lisanna of all people?! My breathing started shaking.

"... That's not all I wanted to tell you..." Natsu said. I looked over, surprised. He grabbed my hand away from my mouth.

"Whatever you have to say just say it!" The words fell out of my mouth in a roar. Closing my eyes, I turned my head. My eyes started to swell with tears. He put a single finger on my chin and pulled my head over close to his. My eyes slowly opened, and the tears leaked out. He was crying too.

"I love you." He whispered. Then slowly he went on for a kiss. I put my finger on his lips, stopping him.

"... I love you, too." I whispered back. Then, I kissed him.

That was the end of the beginning for me, and a brand new door that had so many opportunities to offer.
