Chapter 24 || Action!

Swoosh... The speeder's engine slowed down and they had landed. They got off and walked up to the Chancellor's office.

Anakin knocked on the door. Padmé and the twins were hiding at the wall, waiting for Palpatine to open the door.

Creak... The door opened slowly, which made a creaking sound. It took Palpatine very long to open the door wide enough for Anakin to come in (and his family, Palpatine doesn't know that Padmé and the twins are there).

"Long time no see, Anakin..." Palpatine spoke in his manipulating voice.

Anakin had his plan under control. He saw Padmé and the twins sneak in while crouching. They hid under Palpatine's desk.
Luckily for them, Palpatine never noticed anything.

"Chancellor." Anakin replied in his cool kind of way.

"How's your wife?"

"She's better now."

"How about the child?"

"The child's fine too."

"What are you here for?"

"Nothing. I just thought that if I could stop by."

"Tell me, Anakin. I know that there's a reason for this..."

"Well..."

"The Jedi told you to spy on me, didn't they?"

"H-how did you know?"

"I have the Force, Anakin. I have told you that years ago."

Anakin needed to communicate with Padmé. He tried to reach out for her Force signature.

Mind talk

"Padmé... Where are you?"

"I'm here. What is it?"

"Change of plans. Chancellor can sense you and them are here."

"So what now?"

"Quickly look through the papers. If you find anything suspicious, take it. Let me know when you're done and I'll stop talking. You can rush out when I open the door."

"Okay. Got it."

Reality

"Anakin?" The Chancellor asked.
"Yes, what is it?" Anakin asked, snapping back to the present.

"Did you just pass out or something?"

"I think I did. But I'm okay now."

Padmé, Luke and Leia's side

"It's so tight in here." Leia complained and whispered.

"We all know that. You've been whining the whole time." Luke retorted, with a whisper.

"You two! Shut it, we will get caught if we keep talking! Let's just get those papers." Padmé chided in a whisper.

Padmé's hands were long enough to reach out to the papers on the desk. She brought the whole stack down to their hiding spot.

"Okay, now we have to look through." Padmé whispered.

Leia and Luke nodded. They each took half of the stack, then divided into quarters.

"Economics, politics, err... Aha! I found one part of something!" Leia mumbled. She took a blueprint out and read it aloud. "The Plan to Construct the Death Star."

"I found a few more pieces too! And it has the same heading!" Luke replied.

"And I found the rest. So now let's bundle up these blueprints." Padmé instructed.

They hid the bundled papers in a sack. Padmé gave the signal to Anakin by reaching out to his Force signature.

Mind talk

"Anakin! We're ready."

"Oh. That's fast."

Anakin's side

"Well, it's getting late. See you next time, Chancellor." Anakin said, bidding him goodbye.

"Alright." Palpatine replied.

Anakin opened the door wide enough and in a blur of light his family rushed out of the office while Anakin walked out.

He closed the door. "Whew!" he said, wiping sweat off his forehead.

"That's a close one. We managed to find some blueprints from the Chancellor." Padmé replied.

"Great. Let's go back to the Council." Anakin said, starting his speeder. His family hopped in and they sped off to the Council.

Jedi, we have completed our mission!
