I officially couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened with Nathan, and what happened with Eva.

She didn't kill my mother, I watched who did it with my own eyes. She wasn't even in the picture at that time.

Who did her mother mean by that? Who did Eva kill?

Time change.......

We headed out of the car, Nathan and I were still in an awkward faze. I tried to play it off in from of Toby and Eva, mostly because I don't really understand what's going on between us. I catch him staring at me, but when I make eye contact he quickly looks away.

"Let's do this thing." I mutter, I harden my gaze at the especially after what happened last night.

Me and Eva ran to the back, I started to pick the lock, taking my time and waiting for the boys to sound the alarm. It finally went off and I opened the door. We ran inside and began searching through the swarm of people.

We searched for a while but couldn't find the person we were trying to find. But as I was doing that, I was grabbed and dragged outside. I tried to fight back but for some odd reason, I couldn't. This person was too strong for me. They held a rag to my mouth and everything went black.......

I woke up on a small bed. I could hear someone shifting and moving around somewhere else in the place. It looked like a regular bedroom, so this must be someone's house. I was wearing new clothes, what? Whoever did this is making me very confused. I decided to get up and find this person.

I walk down the hallway and find a girl cooking down in the kitchen.

"I don't know who you are but you have a lot of nerv-" she turned around as I said that. I broke down in tears when I saw her face, Rye. She left her work and came and hugged me.

"I-though-you-were-gone!" I said between sobs. I thought she had left 3 years ago, a year after our mother's death.

Flashback

"I can't take it anymore dad! You can't just marry this snake and then expect me to accept her to be my mother!" Rye screamed.

"Don't you dare call her a snake! She is your mother now and that's final." Dad replied.

"No, she isn't. I'm not staying around for her to be my mom." Rye said walking out the door. I ran after her, sobbing.

"Take me with you please!" I pleaded. She grabbed my arm and looked at me sympathetically.

"You have to stay. You need to be here, Kay. I love you, and I will see you again. I promise." She said, tears glossing her eyes. She ran out of the palace without looking back.

I never have seen her since........

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I cried in her arms for a while. I had kept these emotions up inside myself for years. It felt good to just let them out.

After a while Rye spoke. "I need to show you something, Kay."

"What is it?"

She took my wrist and brought me towards what I could make out was a bathroom. She brought me inside.

"You need to see this. You've been living with liars and secret keepers for years Kay. I'm sorry I left you there alone." She said. She lifted up the bottom of her shirt, revealing a bullet scar on her abdomenal  area.

"What happened to you?" I asked.

"Someone very close to you shot me, Kay. Evangeline did." I gasped. "She wanted me dead, she felt jealous of me and scared that I would take you with me, eventually. She wanted to kill me, but she's a terrible shot and she missed." Rye explained.

"How could she do this? She would neve-" I stopped. "Her mother said something before about her killing someone, saying that her secrets out. That must have been you!"

She pulled me into a hug, saying things I couldn't make out.

"Wait. Why did you attack me and knock me out?" I asked.

"I had to make it look like I wasn't, well.. Me." She explained everything to me that had happened to her since she had left, it felt good to talk to her again.

We couldn't be like that for long though.

"You have to go back to your team, Kay. Don't tell anyone that you heard from me. I'm supposed to be dead, remember?" She said, she helped me out and gave me my old clothes. I headed out the door and she let me borrow her motorcycle to ride into town. All she said is to follow the path and I'll make it to my team. I said goodbye and gave her my cellphone number.

I headed out and made it to town in about 10 minutes. I headed towards the cafe Rye told me to head to, I am starving. I sent a message to Nathan to meet me there, alone.

He showed up 5 minutes later.

"Where were you? I- we were worried about you." He said as he sat down.

"I'm going to tell you something you can't tell anyone, especially Eva. Okay?" I said, I was desperate.

"Yeah, sure." He replied.

"Okay, it wasn't any of Lucas's men who got me. It was my sister." I said, he looked at me in shock.

"Why can't I tell anyone this?" He asked

"You can't because," I leaned in closer to him. "She's supposed to be dead, Eva tried to kill her." I said, making him look even more shocked.

"On a completely different note. I want to know more about you." He said seemingly perky.

"I could ask the same about you." I said, trying to brighten the mood.

"I asked you first. How old are you?" Small talk, that's all this is.

"19, you?"

"20"

It went on like this for a while, just small talk.

"Nathan, I can't go back to the hotel, not yet. I'm sorry, today I learned something about someone I thought I loved and I can't just go back yet. It's too hard." I said, he nodded.

Time pass(again)

I find a hotel outside of town that looks good, and I hear someone calling my name, Rye.

"I thought that you were trying not to be seen." I say.

"Well, I thought you may need these." She pulls out my bags, I open them up and find everything in them.

"Where and how did you get these?" I ask, gawking. She points back to my bike as well. Wow.

"Your little friend gave me a hand with them, he said something about you not heading back yet." She explained.

I took the bags and thanked her before heading inside. I bought a room for three nights and checked in. The room was nice, it just had a bed, a bathroom, and a small little kitchen inside. Nothing like the hotel we stay at with each other. I plop my bags down and lay down, the clock read 5:45, I decided to take a nap. Mostly due to the lack of sleep the night prior.

So I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep....
