Prestons pov-

I woke up ,as you do, but just as I opened my eyes I got a rush of a bit of sadness and a wave of shyness took over my mind. Gem dreamt she kissed me last night but she also thought I would hurt her.

Is that what she actually thinks I would do? Does she think I would harm her?

...

Does she wish we would kiss?

The questions wracked my brain my entire walk down to the kitchen where I stumbled over some bags. I look down and see a suit case and one familiar backpack.

As I raise my head my eyes meet with purple ones... or at least purple colored ones.

"Oh, oops sorry, I ment to bring those out to the car this morning." Gem blushed but her face shone a sense of deep pain, the kind you never truly show on the outside.

"I-its okay." I stutter. "Why are your bags packed?"

"Mitch and Jerome said that we are flying to Florida to check out where we will be living in a few weeks.. we move in right after my birthday." She sulks and our eye contact breaks when she looks to the ground.

I stand silent for a moment. "How long are you going to be gone?"

"Just a few days, while we're there they said I'm going to meet a friend of theirs." She answers sounding shy.

"So you'll be back by Monday?" I ask, trying to carry on a conversation.

"Tuesday actually, we're taking a redeye Monday evening." She corrects and I just say 'oh'

She places her empty glass in the sink then picks up her backpack. As Gem takes one step away I stop her.

"Erm, Gem?" I ask and she stops mid step.

"Yeah?"

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" She nods.

I lead her up to the 'packed room' where we have boxes of things we have been packing up slowly over the weeks. I close the door behind her and lock it so nobody will interupt us.

"I-is everything okay?" She stutters, sitting down on a taped box. I nod.

I stand there gathering up the courage to say what I want to but it doesn't seem to come.

"Are you okay?" Gem asks me. "You're kinda scaring me Pres."

I sigh.

"Alright I'm just going to ask you." I start. "Do you like Lachlan?"

She attempts a smile a bit but fails miserably and gives up.

"No, I don't. I did, when I thought that we would be something but he clearly just sees me as some kind of toy to keep him busy until he can find someone else." She confesses. "I kinda lost my feelings for him after he showed his true colors the first time."

I struggle to keep the smile tugging at my lips under control.

"H-have you told him?" I ask. She shakes her head no.

We sit there in silence, occasionally making eye contact but not very much.

"Why do you think I dreamt we kissed? I know you're thinking about it too....That's why you asked me if I still like Lachlan isn't it?" She asked.

She was right, that's why I asked but I can't let her know that.

"I was just curious as to why your subconscious thought about us kissing." I justify and she nods. "Maby it was just because we were next to each other and you had been up late."

Again she nods then again, silence.

Gems pov-

I was curious as to why he was wondering about that dumb dream I had. I wish I hadn't told him, I wish I hadn't freaked out. I know he would never hurt me but I still freaked out anyway. Idiot. Idiot. GEM YOU DAMN IDIOT!

My thoughts were interrupted by Preston clearing his throat nervously, grabbing my attention.

"C-.. Can I just see something?" He asks and I nod hesitantly. He gestures for me to stand up and I obliged.

Without hesitation he gently grasps the sides of my head and pulls me into a kiss, shocking me at first.

I drowned myself in that kiss, every inch of me pushing to see how far I could go before this had to end but I resisted.

It was sweet, not lustful or super intense but it gave me butterflies and made me wish I had kissed him earlier. A slight part of the kiss was pushing us both to take it a teeny bit further but it was only just building. Our tounges danced and my heart rate raised.

He didn't cross any lines, he kept a gentlemanly distance from being too controlling. He allowed me to guide it so the kiss stayed sweet, innocent almost.

We slowly pulled back, eyes closed and rested our foreheads against each other. The kiss almost didn't feel real once we pulled away from it.

I took a small breath, inhaling his cologne and minty breath then kissed him once more as if to confirm the first one.

Slowly we both opened our eyes and I saw his were open before mine.

"That's what I wanted to see." He breathed. His signature cheeky smile spread across his lips and cheeks tinted a slight shade of pink.

I furrowed my brows a pulled back at our close proximity and what we had just done. As if he was thinking the same thing his body mirrored my actions.

"I- Uh- I...." He stuttered trying to find words.

"We- I- Um.. Well we did that." I state trying to be less awkward but only making it worse. "I- I don't think we should um.."

"Make anything of this?" I nodd at his completion of my sentance. "Me neither, not until things around here start to calm down."

I nod in full agreement.

At that moment Mitchs voice rings through the house calling me down so we can drive to the airport.

I trudge past Preston then dash down the stairs and snatch up my bags whilst rushing to the car. On the ride only one think was stuck on my mind...

I kissed Preston.
