One day, as we were waiting in PSM lecture hall for the lecturer to arrive, Rocky suddenly got up and went to Sasha. The class suddenly fell silent; everyone started looking at what was going on.

"Sasha, I love you," Rocky said in a loud and clear voice.

A hush spread in the whole class. Sasha stood up. She tried to put up an act of being very angry; however, I bet she was on cloud nine. This is what she enjoyed the most...being the center of attraction.

"Rocky, don't you have any..." Sasha began in a fake voice.

But Rocky cut her short. "Wait... before you say anything, let me give you the proof of my love for you," he said.

Now we all were intently looking, curious to know what his 'proof of love' was. He slowly, dramatically removed a letter from his pocket, opened it and held it in such a way, that not only Sasha, but the whole class could see it. On the letter, in huge letters, the bold words 'I LOVE YOU' were written...with blood!

We all were stunned. The whole class remained immersed in pin-drop silence before a louder hush spread. Rocky stood there, his face beaming. Sasha's face could no longer hide the happiness and pleasure she was feeling, beneath the mask of anger and annoyance.

Just then, the PSM lecturer entered and the interesting drama got aborted. No one paid any attention to what the lecturer taught that day.

"What do we call this? Romantic or bloody?" Sufee said, as we made our way back to the hostel. "And how could one make himself bleed so much?" I wondered. "That too for a girl like Sasha! Guys truly have no brains! All that matters to them is beauty!" Sufee sighed.

As we entered the hostel, the only topic of discussion there was Rocky's love-letter. That night at dinner, a huge crowd had gathered around Sasha. And Sasha was enjoying her moment to the fullest. We got irritated listening to her fake and full – of – ego remarks.

"How can anyone be so madly in love with me?" "Am I really so beautiful?" "Why are all guys after me?" and blah blah blah... For the next two days, in college and hostel, this topic continued; Sasha's irritating boasting continued.

Third day morning, I and Sufee came to college from home for the morning lecture. We expected Sasha to enter with a fan crowd around her, discussing her beauty and Rocky's love-letter. But instead, Sasha entered alone, with head hung down. Her eyes looked red, as if she had cried a lot. A hush spread in the class as she entered. "What happened?" I asked Nayana. "You two missed a great drama yesterday," Nayana said. I and Sufee had gone home the previous evening. We had no clue as to what had happened. "What? Please tell!" Sufee cried. "Sasha came to know yesterday that the blood used in the letter was not Rocky's," Nayana paused to gauge our reaction. I and Sufee exchanged confused glances.

"He had apparently stolen a blood sample from pathology lab," Nayana said. "What!" I and Sufee cried in unison. This was so gross! "But how did Sasha come to know?" I asked. "Obviously there were many rivals and competitors for Rocky. One of them conveniently leaked the information." "Oh!" I said. "So yesterday Rocky came to the hostel, to once again convince her. All I heard was a tight slap, which echoed till the third floor. Later I came to know that half the girls from our batch witnessed their emotional drama," Nayana said. "Serves her right. Looks like the inflated balloon of Sasha's ego has lost all air," Sufee said.
