Kat's pov

I slammed the door shut as I ran into my room, furious my eyes clouding over by intense emotion.I growled and fell into my bed to cool blankets only heating the anger inside. After a few moments, I pushed myself off my bed the anger still burning away."I can't take this anymore."I growled to myself as I made my way towards my window.I opened it, the cool noon air rushing in.I grabbed my satchel full of my sketchbooks and pencils and climbed out the window, dropping onto the green lush grass below.I looked around, still not familiar with my surroundings.I glanced at the huge forest to my side, my family and I went hiking there many times. It was peaceful, calm.Without a second thought,I sprinted towards the forest.I ran and ran and ran deeper into the forest, my mind not keeping up with my feet.I ran even as my lungs could no longer reach air and my heart beat faster than I had ever felt before. Finally I stopped deep within the forest, my thoughts finally catching up with me.I dropped to my knees, wheezing and coughing my body retracting and twitching as it struggled for the air it was denied of.For several minutes, I laid there exhausted. Finally,I rose as my body calmed as I stood shakily and glanced around.I climbed up a nearby tree and pulled a pencil and sketchbook from my satchel I then began sketching, not paying attention to the light that was now fading as the sun crept towards the horizon.

I sighed looking back at my sketch.I wasn't satisfied the way I had drawn the forest was all wrong, it was beautiful and serene. My drawing,it was terrifying the trees reaching out almost as if they were dying and looking to grab onto life once again.I shoved my sketchbook back into my satchel harshly and climbed down from the tree ready to return home.I began walking one way but after a few moments I knew it was wrong, I turned around and went another way, it felt wrong again. My mind began to panic as realization set in...I was lost.I quickly returned to my tree climbing up hastily, clutching to the harsh bark.I sat there fearful.

After what felt like an eternity of silence,I heard a soft rustle from below,I clutched the break harder ready to drop and run for my life.Suddelny I saw her appear,Ness."Hi buddy."she said happily to me."Hi."I said sighing in relief. She attempted to climb up to me, it took her several tries but she finally made it up."So um, why'd you run away?" I sighed."I got into a fight with my parents." I growled, clenching my fist, my nails digging into my palms almost drawing blood.I sighed, the the anger passing as the forest calmed me brining me back to peace, begging me not to leave. After a moment, we both began to climb down.As we began to walk in the direction we assumed was the way home.

The little sunlight above began to fade, and the calm green forest began to shift before our eyes, the peaceful green forest becoming dark and creepy sending shivers down my spine.A slight rustle behind us stopped us dead in our tracksi didn't even turn around to glance at the cause of the sound and ran forward, leaving Ness the demon alone.

I ran forward as fast as my legs could carry me.After a few moments, I stopped realizing Ness was not behind me...I slowly began to trek back. After a while, I could hear Ness. She was yelling, well it sounded like ness or maybe it was a wild animal. It was hard to tell. Finally I found her by following her heart wrenching screams. She was Laing on the ground, her hands pulling up grass and digging into the dirt. Her ankle was caught under a uprooted root, it was twisted and mangled horribly. She looked up at me,anger and pain in her eyes."Don't just stand there!"She screamed.

I grabbed my satchel and pulled free my pocket knife, I kneeled by her ankle."Don't cut my ankle off!"She screamed, trying to twist her body around to stop me.I sighed and lifted my knife high in the air before plunging it in...the root slicing through the rough bark easily.Ness sighed and let her head fall into the cool dirt muffling her pain.I pulled the root away releasing her twisted and bloody ankle.

I reach out to grab her ankle before I even touch it she screams. "Shut up! Do you want every beast in this forest to hear you?!" I hissed at her. She snapped her mouth shut and glared at my I reached into my satchel and pulled free a piece of fabric. "Bite down on this." I stated handing it to her. She stared at me confused but did so none the less before she could do anything else I grabbed her foot untwisting it suddenly with a sickening crunch her scream was muffled somewhat by the cloth but not by much. I stood up and ripped a large branch from a tree handing it to her. She took it shakily glaring at me. She stood up leaning on the branch. It was almost pitch black now...
