Kat's pov

I couldn't breathe. Every time I tried to inhale air I only got a thick burning sensation going down my throat and settling in my lungs. Then I realized my eyes were closed I opened them suddenly still gasping for breath. Then I realized I was under water. I propelled myself upwards even as my burning leg argued against it. I reached the surface gasping for breath my lungs water filled and burning I crawled onto the damp forest ground I was back at the pond. I began coughing up water. For what felt like hours I sat their hunched over my lungs trying to dispel the water and replace it with air. Finally the coughing ceased and all that was present was my soft wheezing pants. I let myself fall to the ground my eyes fluttering shut. I had fallen into the pond and pasted out... The crystal the cave it was all a dream. Unnoticed by me was the crescent moon crystal hanging loosely from my neck.

I awoke after a few moments my body numb from the now cold evening forest air. I slowly stood up my once soaking wet clothing now frozen and covered in frost. At least they're dry. I stood up slowly my muscles tense and twisted. I stretched slowly my bones cracking. I groaned softly and stood there for a moment. Then I felt something warm against my chest I looked down to see a crescent moon shaped crystal. It glowed softly. The heat it exited spread through my body warming every part of me head to toe. I felt my entire body relax into the warmth that had embraced me. I sighed softly my eyes fluttering closed. After a few moments I began walking again my worries forgotten along with the intense pain in my leg that now was just a subtle burn.

I had a slight limp but I felt better rejuvenated, even safe. I walked through the pitch Black Forest the soft blue green glow from my crystal illuminating the way. When had it become my crystal, it didn't belong to me... I wasn't even sure if it truly was there or if I was hallucinating and I was actually still drowning in the Crimson pond. I limped onward swiftly my body tingling from the warmth of the crystal. Even as I tried to refer to it as just a crystal it always came out as my crystal, my crystal... My crystal.
