Kat's pov

After only a few minutes of aimlessly wandering I could feel myself losing grip on reality. The blood still oozing from my leg, unending. I was dying. Then again was it really so bad at least I would die in peace without suffering. I finally sat down weakly holding by shredded leg close. My breathing was shallow and uneven, my heartbeat fast and loud in my ears. I sighed leaning against the trunk of a tree. I pulled my satchel open, I had never let them take it away from me. I pulled out a lighter, I was going to survive one way or another. I had to stop the bleeding, I had to...

The smell of burning flesh filled the air, it would have been nauseating but I was numb, numb to the pain the smell. The images of the creature's lifeless eyes staring up at me. I glanced at my leg again it was black and red the blood now burnt and dry the wounds melted closed. I rose shakily grabbing a branch and making my way further into the forest

I walked only for a few moments before I found the pond it was peaceful calm and clear. I didn't hesitate to let my leg fall into the cool water staining it tainting it crimson. It felt so good the cold water soothing my still burning skin. I sat there for only a few moments knowing I had to leave. I stood up my leg still aching and continued on. I don't remember when exactly I had come across the cave I was now resting in or when I had decided to walk into the unending darkness but that's where I was. I fell to the cold rough rock exhausted. Small crystals illuminated the area around me, I crawled forward yet dragging my scorched leg, the wounds tearing open again living a bloody trail. Finally I saw a dim glow I crawled faster towards it till it was within reach. A crescent moon shape crystal I reached out a shaking hand and grabbed it pulling it close to my chest. I grabbed my satchel again and pulled out a pocket watch I had. I pulled the silver chain free and slid it through an almost man made hole in the top of the crystal. I was no longer thinking. I hooked it around my neck then it was completely dark again.
