(Zane's POV)
Lily took me to the doctors office. The doctor came in with a smile on his face. "Zane Ro'meave?" He asked. I could see a name tag on his coat. "My name is Doctor Doctor. Sorry to keep you waiting. Im just gonna run a few tests and do normal doctor stuff. Lily told me that you seemed tired, and couldn't keep your balance yesterday. Is this true?" The doctor asked. "Well, yes. I did feel a little dizzy and tired yesterday." I nodded. Lily was sitting in a chair watching me and Doctor Doctor. Her smile warmed me.
(Lily's POV)
I watched as Zane talked with the doctor. I was still figuring out a way to tell him that Garroth died, considering he still doesn't know. Neither me nor Vylad wanted to tell him yet. To couldn't tell him. The doctor finished and went to check the results. Shortly after the doctor left Zane collapsed. He hit the floor with a thump. "Zane!" I shrieked and ran to him. A nurse heard and ran in the room. "Someone call 911!" She called to the other workers. Soon an ambulance came and took my brother away. I've lost one brother, I thought, what if I lose another? I can't lose another brother. What's wrong with him? What the heck is going on? My family seems to be getting picked off one by one. I decided to go to the rose. I could watch it.
I reached the rose and sat down on the ground. The red petals were tightly packed together, except three. Two lay on the ground, one looking like it was about to fall. They were like little souls, little souls that I could just reach and cradle them in my arms. One of them was my brother. When I looked at his petal o saw his face, his blonde hair and bright blue eyes. His voice echoed in my head. "I miss you, baby sister." But I knew it was just my imagination. I missed him so much. But missing him would never bring him back. The day went by, and sunset came. I watched as the sun set past the trees. As night came I just watched the beautiful petals. While watching it I was reminded of my mothers poem:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Family's forgotten,
More love comes true.
Mom had said that poem to me as a baby. It was then that I noticed, the rose was surrounded by a garden. The garden protected by violets. I could see spirits dancing around, picking flowers. Some were chatting, and amongst the people, two familiar faces stood out. Garroth and Laurances faces. Their conversation was low, but I could hear it. "Zane will be joining the garden, Laurance. And we can't help him." Whispered Garroth. "I know." Sadness edged both of their voices. The petal was ready to fall. And I watched as it prepared to leave its home, and find a new one with its friends. Then, the petal fell. My brothers life had drained away in a moment. But at least he got to join the garden.
