Thirteen| They Found Out

(Aphmau's POV)

I got ready for bed, it was the second night after I came back. Then I got a call. A familiar voice was on the other end, Vylad. "Hello?" I asked. Vylad responded, "Aph. I'm sorry if you were asleep. I've been trying to figure out how to tell you." Sadness was creeping in his voice and I knew he had been crying. "What is it?" My worried voice sounded opposite of his. "If I were you, I wouldn't expect visits from my brothers.....They both died....Garroth died yesterday and Zane today. I'm sorry Aph..." Vylad choked out his words. "Don't be sorry, Vylad. I should be sorry for you. They're your brothers." I sympathized, feeling as if I was about to cry. "Did anyone else die?" My voice murmured. "Laurance..." I could picture Vylad looking at his feet, wet hot tears falling from his eyes. "Goodnight Vylad." I said. "Goodnight Aphmau." Replied Vylad. I started bawling my eyes out. I was soaked in tears when Katelyn burst into the room. "Be quiet! I'm trying to sl--" Katelyn noticed me crying on my bed. "Aphmau! What's wrong?" She ran over to me and sat down beside me. I felt her hand rubbing calming circles on back. "L-Laurance....G-Garroth......" I choked out. My words were muffled by my crying. "They're.....D-Dead..... Z-Zane too......" I cried into Katelyns shoulder, and Katelyn held on to me tightly. "Its ok...Shhh. Shh....Cry." The girls voice was soft, as it usually was when we were alone. I never questioned it. It seemed like I had been crying forever when me and Katelyn saw the sun slip over the horizon. "I'm ok." I murmured and Katelyn stood up. "I'm gonna go sleep. You should rest too, Aph." Katelyns blue eyes stared into mine, then I looked away. "Ok. Thanks Katelyn. " My voice was filled with sadness, and dread. Three of my best friends had died. Who will be next?......

The sun was up in the sky when I got out of bed. My clock said it was 11:30 and I could smell food downstairs. I scrambled out of bed and down the stairs. When I went in the kitchen I saw Katelyn cooking. This is unusual, I thought. "Watcha cookin'?" I asked. "Lunch. The food is grilled cheese and tomato soup." The blue-haired girl grinned. The doorbell rang and I went to go get it. "Hello." A girl at the door smiled. She looked familiar, but I couldn't place my finger on it. The girl must have noticed my confusion and put in, "Remember me? From highschool? Teona." She said, then I realized. Teona was my first friend in highschool. She was the first person I had even met there. "Hey, Teona! I'm glad to see you again!" My voice was more cheerful, or as cheerful as it could be, considering what had happened last night. "What's up, cutie?" Teona smiled. 'Cutie' had always been her nickname for me. Even though Teona was older than me we looked the same age. It was weird. "Come in." I invited and she came in. "This is a nice place." The black haired girl commented. "Live with anyone?" She questioned. "Yes. Aph lives with me and Kawaii~Chan." Katelyn came from the kitchen. Her blue hair was in a ponytail, and she wore her normal clothes. "Cool." Teona smiled. "Hey, wanna eat with us? There's enough to spare." Invited Katelyn. "No thanks. I already ate." Katelyn gave a curt nod and bounded back to the kitchen.
