6 months later..

Is this my baby?

She laid in bed that night, unable to sleep after the encounter she had just had with David earlier that afternoon. Elliot was next to her, fast asleep, exhausted from all the traveling he had done that week. Leaving her up and alone, with too much time to think.

Olivia rubbed small circles over her prominent swell, and tried her best to choke back her tears. She didn't want to cry, she hadn't felt like she should have. Shit would hit the fan soon enough, and soon ended up being today.

It had only been a little over a month when she discovered she was pregnant, after going to the doctor for a routine physical. Her and Elliot were both ecstatic about starting this new chapter in their lives, and couldn't wait to become a family of 3. However, Olivia's feelings towards this pregnancy soon changed when she had realized just how far along she was.

5 weeks and 3 days..

Right on the mark of the same week she not only slept with Elliot, but David Haden as well. Olivia had tried her best to do everything right in her life, anything to avoid ending up like her mother.

Alone and unhappy

She did everything in order: career, marriage, and now kids. But somehow she had still managed to screw up. Here she was, a married woman, swollen with a child that may or may not be her husbands.

"Liv, I left for a few weeks, I come back and you're pregnant? How far along are you?"

"David it doesn't matter. This isn't your baby!"

He had ran into her while she was waiting on the elevator, and he had been stepping off of one. It had been several weeks since she had last seen him, and she had barely been showing or informed anyone of her pregnancy. She hadn't thought much about the possibility of this baby being David's. Olivia had convinced herself that the chances we slim, given that they had only slept together one time. But then again it's really only takes one time.

Ever since this afternoon and him questioning her about the paternity, all of the convincing had gone to waste. Now she was left with the decision to get the paternity test, or lie to David  and try to reassure him that the baby is Elliot's.

Olivia had been anxious all morning about having to resume working with David. She was on desk duty for obvious reasons, and would be stuck in that precinct working with him, instead of being able to run out on calls.

"Liv, can we talk?" David had approached her desk, and irritated the hell out of her that he was even speaking to her. But she knew she needed to try her best to play nice, because with David, anything was possible.

"Uh yeah," her amber toned eyes shifted from left to right, noticing that everyone had been too deep in their paperwork to even notice them. She eased out of her chair and followed him into the empty interrogation room.

Perfect.

"David, I told you yesterday the baby isn't yours I-" he had reached his hand out and placed an open palm over her swell. "Please don't.."

"Liv, I know you're lying to me. I can see it in your eyes!"

"Well I'm not," she moved his hand away from her and moved to sit at the table. She bit down on her bottom lip, trying to choke back the tears that were forming.
