...

"How do you want me to do this?" Casey had opened the envelope that held the paternity results. The page was turned face down. She had to admit, the results left her just as nervous, and wasn't exactly sure how to break the news if this baby was David's.

"Just tell it to me straight," Olivia looked away, avoiding eye contact entirely. Her chest began to feel constructed, as she practically held her breath in anticipation.

The only sound that that filled the room was the crinkling of the paper. Olivia tried to get a read on Casey's face, but was only met with a stoic look.

She pulled the paper from the envelope, and read over everything carefully. Taking what felt like an eternity to finally read over the results. Apparently Casey had been holding her breath too, because the moment she read them, she released it. Her eyes screwed shut, showing either relief or frustration, making Olivia clutch her swell.

"It says.." she paused, clearing the lump that had formed in her throat. "It says that Elliot's the father, Liv," Olivia nearly broke her neck trying to grab at the sheet of paper. She wasn't sure if she heard Casey entirely right, or if she had heard only what she wanted to. "Did you hear me?"

"I did it's just.." she attempted to steady her breathing in an effort to contain the break down that was beginning to surface. "I'm relieved Casey, but dammit I know this isn't really going to fix anything. Elliot is done with me- possibly us."

"As pissed as he is, I don't think he would ever abandon his own blood. I'm going to be completely honest here..your marriage-"

"I know..the one thing we promised to never do, I did," Olivia stood and walked towards the large doors that led to the patio. One hand rested on her lower back, while the other ran along her swell. She tried to calm the intense kicks continuously hitting the palm of her hand- no luck. "You're just a stubborn little thing, aren't you?"

"Excuse me?" Casey interrupted her reverie.

"I'm sorry, the baby- she's just kicking like crazy," she turned to take a seat next to Casey again, giving up on the idea of calming the baby.

"When are you going to tell Elliot?"

"I don't know Case, I feel like he won't even answer once he sees my name on the caller ID," they hadn't spoke since the night he walked out, and she was positive he would dodge every phone call from her.

"Well then use my phone," she pulled the all black device from her purse, handing it to Olivia. "You've got another life to think about right now. Go try and make this a little bit right- at least for your baby," reluctantly Olivia took the phone from her hands, and went out onto the patio to make the call.

She didn't argue, or try to come up with some lame excuse because hiding from the truth is what initially put her in this predicament.

Just make the call, Olivia.

"Hello? Casey if you're trying to get a hold of Liv, she's-"

"It's Olivia," her voice had gone hoarse, nearly cracking when she spoke. She knew what she wanted to say, but the words simply wouldn't leave her mouth.

"I told you Olivia, I'm done with you. Calling me from a different number won't-"

"I went and got the test- I got the test, and this baby..Elliot the baby is yours," Olivia had gone into this as confident as she could be, and felt herself easily slipping at the tone of his words. As much as she wanted this to go smoothly, she knew it would be nearly impossible.

"Bullshit. You've been lying to me nearly 6 months about the paternity. I need proof, Olivia," his voice had strained itself, like he was resisting from raising it. She paced the patio, holding the phone in one hand, while she rubbed small circles on her swell with the other. Olivia had found herself doing this most often as a calming mechanism.
